cause as a non- believer in god I still think history shows if nothing else that Jesus was at least a good man.......who tried to do good

Wait. Thats not right is it? Paul was killing Christians remember? Jesus eventually appeared to him on the road to Rome if memory serves me correctly and asked Paul "why do persecute me"

Paul persecuted followers of Jesus. But so far as Christianity as its' own religion, he had a great deal to do with it's formation and dogma. Paul wrote more than half of the New Testament. He, like Muhammad, Moses, Joseph Smith, various other cult leaders and alien abductees was called to meet alone, told a bunch of stuff and was sent back to spread the word on what they were told.

God is like that. He doesn't tell everyone. He is so powerful, he likes to keep it one on one.

Well, after meeting with Jesus just last night at a gun club mixer, he told me he has no regrets, and that it was a different time 1980 years ago. Sure there was a little wine involved in many of his teachings, but that was the way they rolled back then. I'm sure you can understand. The only thing he regretted was the whole water into wine thing. That really didn't help the already high rate of alcoholism. Let's just say wife beatings went up in the year 29. But, as he said, he was young, foolish but he had a vision. He saw the whole world respecting his valuable teachings of himself and his father (and of course the holy spirit, but he was kinda the 3rd wheel). Instead, foolish leaders called those who did not believe traitors, blasphemers, heretics and and a lot of other hurtful things.

Anyways, as you can see by that link it can always be worse. So please, don't blame the world on poor Jesus, blame it on your ancestors. He was only the middle man in the cruel history that is Christianity.

Jesus was a character in a story, he is similar to Hercules etc. It just so happens Jesus became a big thing and so did God.
