| Nime, The thing is that these writings were never part of the Bible they were not put in because they did not make it through the testing. So I’m not catholic but used to be and don’t want to be again but I’m just saying that the Bible we have today is what God intended for us to have so we should be thankful that it made it through all these years. robb | |

| Can I speak my mind here, man? I don't see the point of moving our discussions. Not all of our discussions concerned God, and even those that did concerned specific qualities or something. So, multiple threads were neccessary to seperate our discussions into different categories. Get it? | |

| I agree with Knatty(if you dont mind me calling you that) that we should keep them in the threads they started, If you wish to start a new thread on a topic to cover a certain topic feel free ![]() Now as to the missing books, I have read your take on it and i disagree, because the only reason they were taking out in the 1st place is because the chruch felt the contents of those books should not belong in the bible. Im sure there many theorys as to why those books were yanked, from politics to some bishop who thought some of the content would make others leave the faith, who knows. I mean if the bible and the books of the bible are inspired by god, why would some of those inspired books be later removed. Am I to belive that those books that once were in the bible and therefore inspired by god no longer have any merit? |

| Can you tell me what books beside the one i know (book of thomas) that has been removed? I know why that was removed. It was written almost a century after Jesus ascended to heaven. Many people believe it wasn't written by Thomas. It talks about reincarnation and all kinds of themes that are incongruent with the rest of the bible. And Thomas didn't even believe Jesus was raised from the dead, even after Jesus prophesied, the disbelief of the testimony the other disciples had and he wasn't considered a disciple at one point in the bible. John 20:26 And after eight days his disciples were again inside, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you!" Then he said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at my hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into my side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing." And Thomas said "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him "Thomas because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believed." Hey Robb that's us, we're blessed, praise God! Anyway that's all I have to post...latez! P.S. I recently read this book called the prayer of Jabez by Bruce Wilkinson. It's a great book, I was wondering if you have heard of it Robb. Anyway hit me back with a post. | |

| Wow you came through nime....now...i want to read them....do u know of any websites that contain the books so u can read them online? I know a couple sites where to read Thomas, but I don't know about any of the others. I'm gonna go to search engines and type in the name of the books; although I really don't know if that is really gonna be too effective. But thanks nime! peace | |
