Post You see what religion causes???

GOD is nothing but a reason to fight!

Jihad?!?!

Sickening. And I'm not just talking followers of Islam here. You're all to blame. Muslims, Jews, Xtians; any way of life that shoves some impossible, dreamed-up-by-madmen ideal down our throats. I've had enough. I don't care how nice a person you are, if you put god before your fellow man, you've lost my respect.

Absolutely sickening.

Don't let the minority speak for the majority. Even though you're not a fan of religion, I don't really care too much for organized religion myself, there are many people out there who do get something out of it. The fanatics are in the vast minority.

I do not see what religion causes? What the hell are you talking about!? When a handful of madmen commit an act of terror are we really to blame religion?

Whatever they claim their cause, they spread the terror - not the religion at its roots.

To me this is the same as talking a look at the Grover from Rainbow Farms and saying... "Marijuana is nothing but a reason to rebel against society! As tokers, you're all to blame."

I have not had much sleep as the media and other were here late last night so the point here may be lost. But why condemn? When we put ourselves in the role of judge, we open ourselves up to more judgement.

Baphomet I understand that emotions are running high, so are mine. I am just not sure how productive blaming religion is. Terrorists will find a reason to be terrorists, GOD is their excuse and not their cause.

LOVE AND PEACE!

NO, I AM NOT A RELIGIOUS EXPERT NOR AM I A MEMBER OF ANY FAITH.

Baphomet I know EXACTLY what you mean, I posted almost the same message as you (just a lil more detailed) on some other forum and it was instantly deleted.. and I was told to calm down and not to overreact just cause these are hard times etc. - bull****! this is what my common sense has been telling me since I reached a certain, more mature state of mind - religion is the biggest fraud in history, and it's always been the biggest and most stupid reason for war, murder and oppression, and I am 100% sure that eventually humanity will simply grow out of it as it constantly grows wiser.. but until then I'm certain more blood will be shed over "God", more minds will be oppressed, more people will live and die unhappily, living an illusion.
420North, you are totally wrong, those people dont regard themselves as terrorists, they just regard themselves as faithful and religious, they think they do the right thing, a "holy thing".

And if you want to tell me religion makes people good and caring - I know god doesnt exist, I know there is no afterlife, and yet I'm a spiritual person, I'm constantly trying to be as benevolent and caring as I can, I dont fear death and I dont suffer from depression due to being unable to find a meaning in life, because I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse on what life really is, and my spirituality is something that comes from within, not from a god or whatever.

I think I better stop now..

First off... I have never said that these people regard themselves as terrorists! I said that without religion they would still find a reason to hate. A hateful man is a hateful man.

Religion and GOD more often act as a deterrent to HATE and VIOLENCE than a catalyst for it. You see BoodahSmokah, major events of terror and war are more often written about than the casual events of each day.... The BIG NEWS gets the press.

For every one VIOLENT religious fanatic there are THOUSANDS of peaceful GOD-loving people. The fear of GOD, the fear of JUDGMENT -- these forces are constantly protecting you from the insanity of man.

You know GOD doesn't exist? You know there is no afterlife? Really!? Boy, I wish I had your amazing insight! You must just be such a deep thinker...

Can you not accept that which cannot be exposed through one of your human senses. As a human being are you the ultimate judge of what is REAL and what isn't?

When you say GOD doesn't exist, which GOD do you refer to? The Christian GOD doesn't exist? The Muslim GOD? Or maybe the ancient Greek GODS?

I believe that GOD is everything we've not yet discovered... All the mysteries of life, that is GOD to me. So, according to you does my GOD not exist? Have we discovered everything? Or does this not apply to my GOD?

Since you make such a strong statement "religion is the biggest fraud in history" it is obvious you must have INTENSELY STUDIED EVERY RELIGION. I mean certainly a "mature mind" would not pass judgment on subjects they have ZERO knowledge about.

You are "100% sure" that humanity will grow out of religion and GOD? So, you are a prophet then? Oh wait, you don't believe in a higher power, right? So... You are a psychic then?

Be careful of careless talk Mr. Boodah. When you sate your opinions as fact you are much less likely to get your opinions heard. For example if you now stated "I know for 100% sure that Marijuana does not cause brain damage" I would probably figure that you were just making GROSS ASSUMPTIONS based on your LIMITED KNOWLEDGE of the subject. You have just lost your power to persuade at least me, because I now feel you make statements of fact that you have no FACTS to support.

Careless talk, careless careless talk.

How are we ever going to legalize Marijuana by presenting the facts if half the facts we spew are nothing more than OPINION.

Hey, I still love you and I am often wrong...

Default God Bless American??

I have mixed feelings about the whole bombing situation. While some people believe that religion is the cause, I believe it to be excuse. Like anything in the world, people can twist and turn the meanings of things. In this case, the terrorists involved twisted their idea of religion to make their actions justifiable. They have come to believe that their actions were blessed by god, and that they are engaged in a "jihad" or holy war. Now, maybe in their eyes, killing innocent people in the name of god is perfectly honorable, but I do not believe the majority of religious people follow this belief. Most religions condemn murder and the senseless slaying of innocent people. What we have here is some strong, intelligent political leaders who have brainwashed many of their followers into believing their actions had a cause. Maybe we should blame them, but I think the problem is with people. They tend to believe in things so quickly, to rely on god. I was watching the tv, and they (the terrorists) claim that we have killed their people time and time again, yet their very follers do not understand the fact that violence will lead to more violence. Until people all over the world learn to communicate and think for themselves, we are going to have thousands upon thousands of ignorant people following these terrorists in search for an answer to their problems. What they don't know yet is that the answer to their problems lies within the social structure of the masses. They must learn to band together, preserve their faiths and beliefs, while having tolerance for everyone else. I know U.S. society still doesn't cooperate in a perfect manner, but I truly believe that education and communication is the solution to our problems. Do we even know the whole reason why they are so pissed off at the U.S. in the first place? We need to strengthen our relations with ALL nations, regardless of our differences. Bombing them to smitherines is only going to get them more pissed off.
