| funny, when i was 16 i started the same journey. i want you to know that religion and spirituality are different, and religion is like an EZ-bake form of 5-minute spirituality. if your spirituality has a name it is probably not very deep. if you're really interested in doing spirituality up right and getting to know what people call 'god' and that you are part of it you have to do the thinking. you must discover for yourself what is right and wrong, what is true, the nature of the universe. i assure you all the answers are available, but you have to go get them. i recommend studying many world religions and spirituality. i recommend reading books by Carlos Castaneda [spelling?] and the dalai lama. i recommend investigating buddhism and zen. i recommend looking at taoism. think about reincarnation. use psychadelic drugs. think about your senses and question them. think about emotion and other people. that should keep you going for a while and is a good way to start. sometimes realizing the path is there and then starting on this journey is the hardest part, and it looks like you've already begun.

| as far as religion today goes. it is merely a an idea created to keep ourselves from asking any further questions. for instance if u keep asking the question why am i hear. you will run circles untill the day u die unless u say **** it i dont know and since i dont someone must or if u believe in adam and eve this question doesnt even arise... i personally dont put any stock in religion at all simply becuase what u believe is completely irrelavant to the way u live your life. i know when im doing something wrong and when im doing right and i try not to do the wrongs and when i do i apologize upon realization i have done wrong. whether jesus is the true god or not is irrelivant to my being a good or bad person what is important about jesus and buddha and the rest is they all teach us things. jesus in his parables and buddha in his noble truths and eight fold path. for me most beliefs are a waste of time and do nothing but seperate me from all who dont share my belief. we all have as many beliefs as we need to keep ourselves from asking questions which have no answers. keep your beliefs to yourself becuase they are yours and no one elses. for example if bob believes jesus is god in order to establish a hope that by bearing our daily cross and being good to others we will achieve salvation in a better place... then thats what he has to do to keep going. if joe believes in reincarnation to give him a reason to want to reach enlightenment and show compassion for all beings so he can attain nirvanna... than thats what joe has to do. while jack may smoke a join everyday just to give him a reason to keep living so he can smoke his next joint than thats what jack does. and for all you agnostics who claim u dont believe in anything i say this. you should all be dead. if u choose to believe in nothing u defeat all purposes for existing. since you have no purpose your existance is meaningless theirfore you have no reason to keep living so you kill yourself. yet you are all here stating your "belief" that their is nothing to believe in. hehe if u state u dont believe in anything you contradict yourself. it is truely impossible to believe in nothing, becuase if u didn't believe in anything your existance would cease. and if you cease to exist you cant contemplate your choice to not believe in anything becuase u dont exist to state your "belief" hehe that could go in circles for ever. everyone believes in something whether its jesus or being responsible for someone. or even smokin the next joint. ![]() |

| I have been working towards usage of the ILLINOIS "RESEARCH WITH CANNABIS" statute (a good medical marijuana law for 30 years!), for the last year. I took on this challenge after I became a strong believer in christianity (I had a conversion experience that was enhanced by entheogens-can you guess what was involved?). Because I wanted to save my marriage, and to try to do this stuff legally, I took great risks, because I believed and still do that I was and am guided by Christ to move forward on these things. Because of the strength of my efforts and risks taken, they call me delusional. I have lost my license to practice law, and have always invoked my religious beliefs (pentacostal Methodist with "Buddhist" tendencies. I just had my doctor's "deposition" and when these "demons" (lawyers, that is), started asking whether I had a "religous experinece" or a "hallucination" it became clear to me that I had just witnessed the birth of a church. This "faith" has the following guidelines 1) I seek to seek my lord Jesus Christ, and a personal relationship with him, 2) The bible has mysteries and information that must be interpreted anew (with more creativity-like where there are certain suggestions about cannabis being an "entheogen" or part of the sacraments), 3) No one way is the "right" path, but many religions have smatterings of the truth and potential to help people seek the right directions, 4) Take all people as you see them and try to encourage a path towards our lord 5) Some people may see or know him by different names, and I do not wish to judge anyone else for the semantics, and distinctions, etc., 6) People will seek Christ better if there are freedoms to choose and to find your own way (within certain boundaries, like-don't kill or incarcerate people because their ideas are different from yours). I seek to develop a group of like-minded individuals that wish to develop this as a "movement", in the midwest. Yes, a major part of this is to encourage a discourse towards at least "religious" rights to use cannabis, in guided and directed ways to encourage the "faithful" to come to Christ. We would suggest "open communion" at designated worship locations, meaning that new converts would not need to pass rigorous "loyalty" oaths, but merely to be on the proper path, ie: no crazy hair or wierd thoughts about "losing inhibitions" or losing cognitive control, as to the reason for using these things, but more to improve the soul. Thanks for listening CHURCH OF THE PATH IN CHRIST. paul peterson. 312-558-9999 | |
