Thanks for informing us of Christians for Cannabis. Right away I see verses from the Bible that more and more show, we are not to cage our neighbors for using kaneh bosm. Example: Isaiah 10:1 "Woe to those who make unjust laws and issue oppressive decrees..."


I see there is an article from Sheriff Bill Masters from Telluride, Co. who blows big guns to stop this war. Makes the thugs sound truely dangerous. The War On Drugs Is A War On People. http://www.christiansforcannabis.com/article1006.html.

And it is a war against Christ. The kaneh bosm prohibition is the biggest problem facing Earth today. Beyond most perception today, still.

I tried to post this last night but the circuits were busy.

GCW - When I began to question the biblical validity of the marijuana prohibition, I approached it as if I was wrong and even as I got to the point of no return on it, I still thought I might have missed something. It was when I started contacting individual ministries and religious organizations concerning the possibility of an hour that I was finally totally convinced. No, they did not agree with me. Quite the opposite, they didn't. And when stating their reasons, after pouring over the Bible for three years, I was able to see right through them. They take a verse here and a verse there and try to make it work, but it always contradicts a teaching somewhere else. All teachings cohere, as do prophecies. The reason that it seems to many that the Bible contradicts itself is because there really is only one way. And people are missing it man... I guess that is why the word says the way is narrow and many will take the wide road thinking it is the right one.

I have proposed a studygroup on beliefnet and if there are 25 people that sign up it will be accepted. Perhaps if a bunch of us get together we can get on some solid ground with this and be able to proceed with strength...

Where I am lacking information is the evidences of mention of cannabis in the Bible. While I do not think it is necessary to prove this in order to prove that the drug war is wrong from a Christian angle, I would like to investigate it further.

jini, in the 1st post above there is plenty of access to evidences of mention of cannabis in the Bible. Get back if you want more or have questions. Do check in w/ Pot T.V. which has the "Burning Shiva Hour", which has info. on it all.

Below I am going to include some of my thoughts on verses that pertain to the narrow road.

We areto walk the narrow road. When we deviate from that narrow road we think it the wide road but we have actually made it harder. We have made it more complicated. More complicated tnat what was made elementary and easy for a babe to understand. The narrow road is our Lords route. It is the glorious road. The road to true Love of creation from creation for creation is the promise of the Lord.

Don’t give up the narrow road depicted when the Lord says he created ALL PLANTS FOR GOOD AND MEDICINE. That includes kaneh bosm. Don’t deviate from that narrow road when at a sudden hari pin curve you’re to decide if the Lord said He created all herbs and seed bearing plants and they were for food and medicine. OR: Did the Lord make an exemption? Did God create all plants and they were very good EXCEPT for kaneh bosm. DO YOU SUBSTITUTE THE LORDS WRITTEN WORD for: Except for cannabis, which we will continue to impose torture to those who consume kaneh bosm.

The latter is one WIDE road! A DIFFICULT road, a very complicated complex road.

It is not the road to God. It’s the direction NOT OF THE LORD. Do not deviate from the map and get lost.

I have not spent enough time editing this material and have not included what I have learned in the last week. It does not stop. Once we RE-TAKE kaneh bosm in the Bible as originally intended, our whole level of everything changes, with all its Biblical intentions!

I’ve been noticing a repetition or pattern I think, of the Bible indicating that, there would be people trying to lie with a straight face to deny the plant that God gave us. This has been written over and over again as a sign that would occur. Am I correct or not?

So following below will be my attempt to show this to be true. Some things that are a given is that kaneh bosm is cannabis, as verified by Hebrew Univ. in Jerusalem in 1980. Kaneh bosm is inferred as food, meat, medicine, perhaps the new wine, etc. Drink is described in the dictionary as to drink smoke as to drink of a pipe.


· Isaiah 59:13,” In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood”. Here we are talking about those who would deny Gen. 1:29 etc. as those lying against the Lord, whom HAS spoken about cannabis.

· 1 Timothy 4:1-5, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer”. Here we are told to expect the leaders whom will cage cannabis users.

· Colossians 2:16, “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days”. This indicates that we are to not allow the government to cage us for consuming cannabis.

· Colossians 2:8, “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ”. Here again we are instructed to not allow the Gov. to cage.

· Colossians 2:20-21, “why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, Touch not; taste not; handle not”?

· Romans 14:20, “Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food”. Here we see that we are not to disregard the greater ( Gods work) for the purpose of the secondary (petty suppression).

· Proverbs 19:9, “A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish. Here we see that falsly denying Gen. 1-29 etc. shall be punished?

· 1 John 3: 7-8, +10, “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning”. 10, “By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother”. We are told to not let those of the devil deceive us, plain and simple, and that would have to include Gen. 1:29 etc. Verse 10, indicates that the deceivers will be obvious, like a simple litmus test. Can you love your brother while killing him? While caging him for using what our creator gave us and further told us he gave us?

· Deuteronomy 22:4, “Thou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again”. This indicates how to treat a neighbors sick animal, which helps understand that our love shall be no less for that neighbor himself, and if sick shall not be ignored what God created for us to use as medicine and written as such.

· Proverbs 29:12, “If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked”. If the ruler is unable to comprehend Gen. 1:29 etc. then they may well be hearken to lies. That particular type of ruler is spoken of as wicked.

· Daniel 12:10-11, “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days”. This seems to indicate again that those who do not get it are wicked. This does not just pertain to Gen. 1:29 etc. but much much more. Wasn’t the regular sacrifice including the burnt offerings, and some translations include the perpetual [sacrifice] (Youngs Literal Trans.)? The Revised Standard Version says, “ the continual burnt offering! It like the pattern shows that in fact the wicked will not even get it!

· Isaiah 61:8, “For I, the LORD, love justice, I hate robbery in the burnt offering”. This seems elementary.

· Romans 14:15-16, “For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died. Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil”. This indicates we are not to withhold foods which god has created for medicine etc.

· 1 Corinthians 11:28, “But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup”. To drink of the bottomless cup, to drink smoke.

· Ephesians 5:1&2+11-16, 1 “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. 11 Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; 12 for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. 14 For this reason it says, Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.'' 15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil”. This sounds pretty straight forward. Government cannabis prohibition is an unfruitful deed of darkness that must ignore Gen. 1:29.

GCW has already listed many references for cannabis in the Bible. Among the good possibilities that scholars have identified are:

keneh besem: "sweet-smelling cane" used in the anointing oils in the temple -- seen by many scholars as hemp

honey that Jonathan eats in Kings: could be a euphemism for cannabis that "enlightened his eyes". His father, Saul, may have also been a cannabis user.

honey eaten as an aphrodisiac in Song of Solomon -- again, could be a euphemism for cannabis, which was and still is used for that purpose

the honey in the lion – in Samson’s riddle. The riddle is answered “ what is sweeter than honey, and what is stronger than a lion?” stronger than a lion was obviously Samson, who killed it in the first place. Sweeter than honey could describe cannabis for any who have tried it, including Samson?, who may have used cannabis, since he was banned from drinking by a Nasserite vow.

OK, now the problem: belief systems based on certain interpretations of passages are a huge warning flag for me. If you are right, great, but if not???? You are down a slippery slope!!! That is how weird cults get their start.

When you base your beliefs on the principles of the God’s Word, you have a firm foundation. I think that is what GCW is trying to do with his last post of the references and his commentary on them.

The point: if at the end of my life, I find out that keneh besem was in fact, sugar cane, and not cannabis, I don’t want to look back and go “oooops!!!” I want to be able to say, regardless of that detail, I conducted myself according to what was right and good.

I agree, we do not want to place too much on what may be sugar cane and go oooooops. If we disregard kaneh bosm, we still have so much in verse that says we are not to cage our neighbor and brother for using green herbs, and every seed bearing plant for food and medicine.

Caging for cannabis use is wicked and evil, in all acounts.

I gota say, I am relying on my brother and God, to set me straight, for the truth is what I hold my arms wide open for. I think I am walking with the God, and God will carry my butt, even when I stumble, as he always has.

It looks pretty safe to believe cannabis and kaneh bosm is one in the same though. Nothing else is capable of the qualities that is described in cannabis. Many other groups of civilizations simultaneously used it and wrote about it also, which is relevent. The American Indian is said to regard the pipe as a portable alter.

the Kanesh Bosm info is great! Cannabis is God's gift to mankind, it helps us become self-aware and purify the soul. Burning cannabis is pleasant in the eyes of HIM and his word can be understood from an irie state of mind.

I am a Rastafarian, I believe in God and many rastas believe in Jesus. We believe herb is a sacrament from Jah and that HE gives us all the seed-bearing plants and herbs to use.

This girl claimed in class today "I can go to church now, because I haven't smoked weed in 6 months."

This pissed me off! Since when has using a plant that God made for mankind been a sin? Did the bible say "Thou must not smoke cannabis, and go to church"?

I have to start out by saying Im not a Christian or a Jew, but I think this is a good approach!

About the riddle of what is as sweet as honey and stronger than a lion, I think the answer to that is a Honey Comb. It is one of the strongest structures created by animals that is known to man. Anyone have any insight on this?

Sounds like God thought that all herbs bearing seed were for us to use!
