Thats very close to what I have been thinking of lately. I see christianity and buddhisma and all the other religions as a path which can be followed to some type of enlightenment/nirvana or holy after life. So all in all they are truely heading toward the same goal. The only differences are the specifics.

Personaly I side with the buddhists, I feel that really and truely we are capable of doing some of the things that were listed in the first post. The mind is an amazing thing, Someone who reaches a nirvana state would in my mind be able to do some amazing things. Once you get there you have all the answers, there is no such thing as time, it was man made. The past, the future, and the present all coexist at the same time.

I feel that you can not follow the same path as another person to enlightenment, you must take your own path. The true way to nirvana is to find out and experience what will brake the ego that holds you to reality. Ego is what hides your eyes from the truth. Once ego is broken then you have reached nirvana. But what breaks ego for one person may do nothing for the next. I feel that all you can really do is help and push someone in the right directions, you can't take the steps for them, they must do it on their own.

Also our guides to nirvana and enlightenment are written in a man made style, they are written with words. Words that can not truely decribe what enlightenment and nirvana truely are. They are capable of misguiding and lead to misinterpretations. You have to experience and understand life for yourself, you can't just follow someone elses words to enlightenment.

If time in heaven is Forever, that means it never had a start.
I'll try and explain this... think about how a measurement is defined. Say time is a piece of string. If that string is infinitely long, a measurement is always a fraction of the thing being measured. How can you have a fraction of an infinite? Anything that is infinite can't have measureable amounts in it. Half an infinite is still an infinite. So, if heaven was forever, that forever could seem like a second, but just as validly, it could seem like a million years.

But then again, I guess it's heaven so nothing really applies.
Ah well, I don't believe it anyway.

I have also thought about this a lot, infinate space and time. I do not think the human mind is fully developed enough to grasp the concept of infinite time and space. When I think about it, its just mind racking and stressful. I dont think there is really such a thing as infinite time and space, because infinity is immeasurable, and like waytoohigh said before, time is man-made, because we are only here in this existance for a certain period of time, and to try to measure infinity with it would be pointless, because time would go on indefinatly and we would then have to have something to measure time with, and then that would go on forever, and so on. And thinking about infinite space is just as pointless, to try to think that you could travel infinatly in one direction for an infinate amount of time and never be at the same point in time or space ever again. The vastness of it is just to hard to grasp for someone who has only inhabited say for example 5000 square miles of infinate space, and less than 100 years of infinate time.
And Global Warefare, your time string analogy got me thinking, yes if you laid that infinate string in a straight line, it would never have a beganning or an end, but what if that string was somehow connected to form some kind of a circle? Because a straight line has to have two points to really be understandable, but a circle on the other hand, can go on forever or infinatly, but is still something that we can see and grasp in thought. I guess this circle would still be immeasurable as it could be infinatly large, but it would still have to visit the same point on the circle because it would be connected. So maybe life is somehow a cycle of reusing energy, which would disprove the nothingness theory, but in what way of reusing this energy I do not know, I guess the scale of this would be immeasurable as well, because we could be infinatly recycled back to the earth for an infinate amount of time, or our energy could be recycled throughout the universe somehow in an infinate amount of space which really just brings me back to square one.....damn my human thought process lol

It really is beyond a human mind to comprehend, maybe for the very good reason that we're not supposed to comprehend it?
Things like that are (or should stay) outside our sphere of influence on the universe maybe?
Not necessarily my opinion, just a thought.

And Zero, since we're essentially created from the same matter as stars and planets, I guess humans could share the same energy too. Everything in the universe just works so well.
