But you are reading from the traditional Bibles that cut out a lot of things. Read the gnostic texts, you'll understand that what the Bible teaches is all spiritual, not literal like an actual place. The only literal things were done in private teachings, as private teachings were given to people who could understand them, likewise, the fairy tales you read in the Bible are for those who cannot relate an idea like that of those given in private teachings.

Firstly, you're right red, the traditional modern day Bible is hacked up beyond recognition. Secondly, I never said that the tree of life or knowledge was marijuana (That's assuming for our purposes that they were physical plants) but if pot WERE that "tree" of knowledge, then there is no way to know that they didn't also take a couple of seeds with them at the tasting. And IF they did make out with some seeds (which is totally hypothetical and cannot be proven or disproven with available text) then the tree of life and, by default, the original tree of knowledge of good and evil were guarded by the flame sword. They had already tasted the tree of knowledge and gained said knowledge, so the creator wasn't concerned about them eating more of it, he only cared about them eating the tree of life because if they ate of the tree of knowledge and the tree of life then they would be as god was (Which brings up interesting theological questions as to the absoluteness and exclusivity of god's power). But, of course, none of this has to do with the original question which was "was it there at all?" Yes it was. And yes, daniel_ari_yair, This is a cool topic.

Well all things were made good i would have to say its mankind that ruins things,ive wondered alot about the medicinal aspects of Marijuana, (Which i really dont know anything about yet) but it makes a good incense as well so in that its obviously good, plus hemp makes rope so what YHWH made was good,like i said before man corrupts things.

HMMM...I don't think I've EVER heard a layperson, or any other religioso, for that matter, claim the OT as "hooey." I know that many clergy have stated that parts of it are not to be taken literally, but I doubt the entire OT was disregarded by the church; after all, if this were the case, many of Christ's actions, which were intended to fulfill the words of the OT prophets, would be in vain, and would cause the entire NT to be disregarded, as well. I'm sure that's the last thing the church would intend to do.

True....but you must also remember that cocaine is a derivative of a natural substance, the coca plant, which God also created. Opium, also. I doubt there are any alcohol, LSD, Ecstasy, etc. receptors in our brains, as these are man-made, but it doesn't surprise me that there are coca-triggered receptors.
