this argument isnt about religion it is about whether a higher being or god exist. religion is a derivative of whatever truth you choose to accept. do i make sense?

One can interpret anything, it doesnt make their interpretation fact.

It is fine to believe that one choice is more possible, thats the beauty of faith. However when you start to assume and proclaim you are right is when trouble starts because all you have behind you is faith and interpretations. Sadly faith and interpretations dont make too convincing of an arguement on those without said faith.

Do you see what im getting at? We dont know, we could both be wrong, we could both be right and there isn't much either of us can do to convince the other otherwise.

Anything is possible.

I didn't say anything is possible, I was addressing your comment about the beginnings of life. It is possible that exactly the right chemicals and such got together in such a way to start life, given almost unlimited time. Such as...if I were to say I would win the lottery ten times in a row. It sounds impossible to us, because we see the world in a narrow time frame. However, if given unlimited, or massive, massive, massive amounts of time, then eventually its likely to happen.

It doesn't? Um...yes it can. So by saying it "does not", you indicate that it won't ever boil and 98.5 degrees. Sorry nu skool but it is in fact...YOU who are wrong! Water can boil at various temperatures, depending on pressure. Try going to the top of a mountain and boiling water, then going into a valley and boiling water. It affects the boiling point of water quite a bit.

Maybe he didn't mention sea level because he didn't mean for it to be sea level (besides...if we're discussing when life started, why would the water be at sea level, and the air pressure would be different back then anyways, so even at sea level, water may not have boiled at what it boils in modern times). And that's besides the point anyways...you tried correcting him on such a negligible point. He said "98.5 degrees or wutever"...obviously he didn't mean for it to be scientific, he's just bringing up some interesting concepts and points. I only pointed out your error because I felt like you were nitpicking at his post, so I had to do the same =D Well, anyways, its besides the point, as the question posed in this thread is "does god comes from the same placec as us?". Now, if we really wanted to nitpick, we could question what a "placec" was...

bluntaholic, while you do have intresting pionts, might I add that as far as I know, they have not created actual life in labs (yet). Only organic compounds, ammino and nucleaic acids and such. They have the building blocks for life, but haven't quite built the tower, so to speak.
