I do agree with you. Although I have no desire to "destroy" Catholicism or religion in general, I personally believe that regardless of the statistics of the situation, religion will be completely transformed in the near future. The fact is that people are starting to realize how incredibly subjective religion really is. That is what is going to change things. I'm sure that there will still be practicing religions all over the place and the majority of people will apply themselves to one faith or another (which statistically would keep the numbers relatively the same over time) but the manner in which religion is practiced and viewed will be altered dramatically, not just how many people claim Atheism or any other way of thinking for that matter. It more has to do with the institution of religion itself rather than the number people ascribed to a given religion.
