You know what they say about Catholicism, if it feels good, it's a sin.

This the same Vatican that forbids Catholic missionaries from informing people inhabiting the most HIV-riddled places on Earth of sexual protection?

The same Vatican that houses paedophiles in their sovereign territories and protects them from law?

The same Vatican whose historical activities bestowed us with the concepts of 'nepotism' and 'inquisition'?

Well I`m shocked.

In Catholicism, sex for non-reproductive purposes is.

And I don't know how Marijuana could be sin since it wasn't mentioned in any Bible.

It might have been mentioned in of all things, the Holy Bible.

If what scholars are saying is true, the word calamus should have been translated as cannabis. If that were the case, then Christ himself would have been the greatest cannabis user of all time since it is the active ingredient in the holy anointing oil which is precisely what made Jesus the Christ, or anointed one. Anointed with? Holy anointing oil of course... No wonder the Catholic church is so against it, they remind me a lot of the religious leaders of Jesus' day whom he rebuked every chance he got. Hence his crucification... They had to shut him up after all...

Peace and Love

Heh, takes me back to the jokes we made about cos e^x.

Yeah, this isn't anything new. The only difference is that they specifically branded drugs as sinful.

That article also called pollution sinful...in which case there are very few people in this country NOT screwed by that decision. How many here drive a car? Let's see 'em. *raises hand*

There's a whole chapter in Saying Yes: In Defense of Drug Use by Jacob Sullum about the religion component in drug prohibition. "Chapter Two: Strong Drink" details all of the places in the Bible where it warns about the evils of intoxication. It also details all of the places in the Bible where it praises intoxication, which religious people tend to ignore.

Ignore what the Vatican says about sin. They're still figuring out whether its a sin to fuck little alter boys in the ass.

I'm sorry, was this thread in the legal forum or the religion forum?

Two completely different issues. Separation of Church and State. Or have you not read that pesky little constitution yet?
