So, we have one person's word against another when this supposedly happened in a room full of people? Why don't I find myself rushing to believe this? I'm sure if it happened, there would be more than one person willing to talk about it. If only one person comes foreword supporting this version of events, it makes one wonder if the person might not have some sort of personal agenda against McCain, now doesn't it? One person' word against another's isn't exactly a pressing argument to believe either side.

Direct from the article:

Quote:
McCain has long faced criticism for his at-times hot temper, and he has especially clashed with Cochran over a variety of spending projects. The Mississippi Republican endorsed Mitt Romney's presidential bid last year and told the Boston Globe that "The thought of [McCain] being president sends a cold chill down my spine."
"He is erratic. He is hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me," Cochran told the paper in January.
What a surprise that the guy who has a gripe with McCain doesn't have anything good to say about him! Sterbo, sometimes I wonder if it's even possible for you to be any more one-sided judging by some of your recent posts.

I'd be more reluctant to believe this story if McCain didn't have a reputation for having a temper. I'm not saying it's definitely true. None of us were there, and without anyone that was present for this alleged episode is speaking out, it's certainly a dubious claim. On the other hand, why would Senator Cochran completely fabricate this story over disagreements on spending? Isn't the republican party the party of solidarity?

Who knows, all I'm saying is that while this isn't definitely true, it's also not completely out of left field.

I also believe that future historians will look at this epoch and recognize it as another instance of the 'madness of crowds.'"

Agreed....too bad the poster of the article couldn't have provided this sort of disclaimer.

Oh, right - it would have defeated the purpose.

To be fair uzi, I have no faith in any given flag as its a piece of cloth on the end of a stick. I think its unjust to say he does not have faith in the country or its people, I remember that some people on this forum made a big hoo-hah over him not placing his hand over his heart during star spangled banner. I personally think I would trust a President more (as a non US citizen) for not doing so.

It shows a more moderate attitude regarding patriotism, giving (me) the impression that Obama is a man to do business with, whilst George "W" was just a joke, which would have been funny if it were not true.

Regarding McCain I don't know his policies, but he kinda looks and sounds like another Bush-type President, so I would probably root for Obama come November.

I've seen a number of criticisms leveled at Obama but never this one.
Is this something you heard him say, something someone else witnessed, or simply wishful thinking on your part?
