You also need to think about McCain's age and the high levels of stress that are associated with the Presidency. A few bouts with cancer under his belt already at 72 years of age, he may very not make it through his first term, making Palin the president...

The same can almost be said of Obama, he doesn't have that much more experience.

What the really reflects is what the government thinks of the American people. Obama and his managers are no different, and neither is any other politician. They all look at the American people as a nuisance, they think we are all willfully ignorant and could care less about what they do. Which, for the most part, is 100% accurate...

That is true as well. I just don't want women to vote the McCain/Palin ticket just because of Palin, because she is a woman.

I was disappointed that Obama didn't choose Evan Bayh, but that's just me.

First of all. It's great that the Republican Party has put a woman on the ticket, for the first time ever. It's very convenient, including this time, that it is so.

I agree. Was watching CNN, and they said she was a 'beat' away at being President. Get it?

I love the irony, on how out of touch McCain is with the American people.

I love the irony, on how I can sit at a light months ago. And read bumper stickers that say, 'McCain', and on the other side of the vehicle it says, 'Lifes a Bitch, So don't vote for one.'

If McCain thinks that women will vote for him because he's got a woman on the ticket, he's sadly mistaken. Women vote for someone because of their position on the issues close to their hearts, not because a candidate happens to have two X chromosomes.

Because of his age and health, whoever gets picked as McCain's VP would have a good chance at ending up in the Oval Office. Sarah Palin comes across as a lightweight. She doesn't have the gravitas or experience of a Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, or Geraldine Ferraro. Her experience in statewide elected office is less than two years. She's never held a national post before. How the hell could she manage the job of the President of the United States?

If the Republicans are playing on Obama's lack of experience, what can they say about Palin?

Absolutely. It was almost like a slap in the face directed toward women's intelligence across the U.S. Like we have to vote for a woman simply because we are women and could not see through the political strategy of placing Govenor Palin on the GOP ticket. We aren't fembots who are programmed only to side with women.

It actually sort of pissed me off to hear her play off of Hillary Clinton's claim of "placing 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling." She's saying "women aren't through" and she's the one that will break through this glass ceiling. Who the fuck is she anyway? She's riding in on Senator Clinton's coat tails and being played as a pawn by McBush and the entire GOP, simply because she is a woman.

Ok....breath..../rant.

I beg to differ. I work with at least 8-10 women who will be voting for McCain/Palin because of her sex. Otherwise they would not be changing their minds on the core differences between the two parties. Here is a link to a forum for HRC supporters that are just tickled to death that McCain has chosen a woman and will be voting for them as a result. Sarah Palin is McCain's VP selection!! - www.hillaryclintonforum.net

And that's exactly what Palin is against. Roe V Wade for example. EVEN in cases of rape and incest.

Just another Republican.

We need to wake up and realize that it is not Republicans v. Democrats. It is the American people v. the American government. Once, or should I say "if", that happens then we can begin to make changes for the better...
