It "appears" that John McCain has picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for the VP spot on his ticket.
Smart move as she is definately going to take some wind out of Obama's sails.
Barak can now say goodbye to the womans vote.

Yea thats exactly why McCain picked a women VP, just to take away Obamas female supporters and to keep the Hillary supporters he has. Such a dick move...but thats politics

I think it was an excellent move if its true. He now has a moderate Republican ticket versus a very liberal Democratic ticket. The far right will hold their nose and vote for McCain and he picks up the vast part of middle America. History will be made when she is nominated as VP. Operation "Steal Your Thunder" will be a complete success.

I think I remember him telling me that she is a good governor, but I could be wrong.

However, we are trying to elect a new president, and McCain is still the Republican presidential candidate, not her. I hope people remember that when they go to cast their vote.

I'd hope that tha women of this country will not be swayed to vote based on genitalia. I'm not voting for Obama just because I'm black.....

Funny to see you folks thinking women will vote just because there's a vagina on the ticket. Thing is, this particular vagina is attached to a right-wing idealogue who agrees with McSame that Roe v Wade should be repealed, and that it's cool for insurers to fund Viagra, but not birth control pills. Any woman who'd vote this Repug ticket would never have voted for Obama/Biden in the first place. And Biden will eviscerate her in a debate. Figuratively, of course.

As far as repblican candidates, this year it's not that bad, and Palin seems to be a pretty good choice. But I just did a bit of research (wikipedia) and it said that she supported teaching creationism alongside evolution, which is just a little pev of mine, you know, as it has absolutely no place in any form of scientific study.

Though at the end of the article she says that this is because of how whe supports both sides of the debate as a healthy debate is good, which is true, just not when one side is obviously fact and the other is religious doctrine. Other than that, she really is a great VP choice...

I think that this choice is definitely based on her sex rather than her politics. She's an up-and-comer politically, is extremely conservative and very republican. Also, she isn't much into tha whole political spotlight, so she can basically be anything they say she is...who'd know??

I'm against most of her stances on values and issues, but....hey, I'm a dem (or as close as I can be to any "major party"). I don't agree with her but I understand and do not hate her. She's a perfect pick for McCain, in tha fact that she is as conservative as Obama is liberal, she's around his age to garner tha Young Repub votes and, yes...she is a woman.

They really couldn't have designed a better politico strategically....but it goes to show what they - tha McCain Campaign Managers - truly think of tha American people. Stupid dumb rednecks that are only interested in superficial, surface qualities and not interested in tha complex and sophisticated policies and issues of tha candidates
