Why do you think that the United States has the right to overthrow governments that are presenting no immanent threat to the United States? If other countries are not treating their citizens well, it's a matter for the UN or NATO, not what amounts to unilateral action on the part of the United States. If Americans had been told that we had to go to war to save the Iraqi people from their own government, there would have been a nationwide chorus of "You've got to be kidding!" I have great respect for the soldiers who died for their country. I have no respect for the men whose lies put them in the ground. The spirits of our dead should rise up and smite the Washington cabal that lied to our nation and got them killed for no good reason. The living must make sure that such assholery never controls this nation again. Four score and seven years ago our Fathers brought forth upon this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that All Men Are Created Equal......... Gadzooks! I've been channeled!

I'm not saying this war is great, that I love the fact we're there, or that I want us to be there any longer than necessary (I think an overnight exodus of our troops would lead to even more chaos, I'm a fiorm supporter of a graduated withdrawl). All I'm saying is, that despite being there under false pretenses, that at least SOME good has come out of the situation. Is it worth the price paid? Thats anyone's guess, because all we can do is speculate and hypothisize about what WOULD have happened had we left Iraq alone and let Saddam continue business as usual. I'm not justifying our action in Iraq. We had no business there. However, we're there, and we can't turn back time to a place that we weren't.
