I realise there were a number of reasons to prefer McCain over Obama, but how anybody could bring themselves to cast a vote for the same Republican hell spawn that have pretty much single-handedly managed to entrench the West into a barely recoverable economic and political climate is well and truly beyond me. Second amendment protectionism, I'm afraid, doesn't weigh up even fractionally against the issues central to the current climate. That said, I read in another thread when I logged in last night a poster who claims that his church or Bible circle or something or other were praying the day after the elections for Obama's assassination. Apologies to that poster for not referencing them, but that was the first thing to cross my mind having read the OP.

Anyone who believes any of these lies promoted by the McCain campaign is, indeed, more than a little short in the brains department.

And the fact remains, many did believe those outright lies! I don't see why I was groaned at or why my statement was called 'ignorant'. Apparently sometimes people can't handle the truth. ![]()

| No matter who wins, the American people lose at this point. I started getting frustrated with Obama's political choices, from the time he decided to put Biden in as his Veep candidate. Now he's got this Emmanuel creep from the Clinton administration, locked in as chief of staff. The Republican party did win the election. Obama is drifting to the right at the rate of six knots a damn hour. Change.....Yeah I see it. He's changing into Alan Keys. ![]() Uruguay, here I come.

| Yes, quite a few of them did believe all the lies,I've met many. But to believe a generalization is ignorant most would say. |

| This is why I hate politics. People don't care about what is best for the country. All that matters is that "my guy won." Politics are a joke. In fact, the whole system is a joke. EDIT: I'm not saying everyone is like this, but the majority of people are. Last edited by FoD : 11-06-2008 at 10:40 PM. |

| Exactly... not every McCain supporter bought the bullshit, and to generalize that most McCain supporters did is indeed ignorant. The media often generally stereotype stoners as being white, suburban halfwits with dreads, dressed in Rasta colors, unable to carry on a halfways intelligent conversation. Does that make it accurate? Nope, they simply took an easy target and attempted to lable an entire group wholesale with similiar stereotypes. Believing an ignorant stereotype is much easier than actually digging for the truth, which is why so many people buy into them so easily.

I voted Obama but my vote alone didn't put him in office. He's now going to be president and me as someone who voted for him expect him to prove to us that he can run the country. It's not about who voted for Obama and who didn't. All of us are now looking up to him and his administration to run this country and we hope he runs it good. Bush got in twice, I didn't like him or his administration as leaders of the country but we also didn't want to see him fail. It's stupid for anyone McCain supporters or Obama supporters to say hey look the guy you voted for is a failure! We can't say anything about Obama because he isn't running the country yet. The guy or girl that gets into office is the countries president. It shouldn't be one sided support at this point in time. If McCain got in I didn't vote for him but he would have become my president and the rest of Obama supporters or Nader supporters president. When you have a president in office the whole country needs to forget about who voted for who but it never works out that way. My dad has complained about Bush and his administration since the first election and just says I never voted for that asshole. Hes not the only one to say that about Bush or say he fucked up the country but it wasn't all his fault. When Bush and his administration became a failure we said hey I voted for Nader or I voted for Kerry! Like suddenly the guy wasn't our president, only the people that voted for him he was their president! Who knows how much better or worse the country would be if Kerry or Nader was in office, we don't know! We can't go back in time and change our votes and change the course of history. The point i'm making is that the election is over. McCain lost, Obama won, if people like it or not we have another president to support and we need to hope he comes through for the country. If McCain got in Obama or Nader supporters would be saying we're screwed and McCain wouldn't be running the country yet so we wouldn't know which direction the country was going in. Obama got in and we are already hearing McCain supporters saying what we would have said about McCain, we're screwed and Obama isn't even running the country yet for us to see which direction the country is going in for good or for worse. Theres no way to tell how a country is going to be run. Any president can say anything to get votes. All of us take a gamble on who we vote for but once someone gets into office everyone needs to hope that the guy that gets in office runs the country the way it should be run. It's just stupid for people hoping for a president to fail because they didn't vote for the guy just to say hey I told you so! We also make a prediction by going by the candidates policies. One guy has a different set of plans than the other guy. We look at the policies and think maybe this plan will get our country up and running. We don't know for a fact that it will work but we make a prediction that one plan might be better than someone elses. We are in a big mess right now and Obama or McCain couldn't fix this country in a day. It's going to take some time and we need to hope things get better. It's expected for people to show emotion when someone they vote for wins or loses. It's a political race but it's competitive. The McCain supporters were behind him through the whole election. Every person that voted wants the samething. We all care about this country and want to have a good leader to run it. Everyone is worried right now, none of us know what to expect for the future of this country. Last edited by king cola : 11-07-2008 at 09:18 AM.
