I wasn't, which is why I am not claiming to know "what really happened."

I did....several months ago when it was originally posted.

It proved nothing.

We need a president who at least has some original ideas to help move our country away from where it is currently heading. I see a lot of guys saying Obama has some bad ideas, Guess what the president has many advisers and the whole congress to help.

McCain will keep the country where it is, if not make it worse by spending more money we don't have and making permanent the tax cuts for the rich.
If only it were truly that simple...

Links of interest:

Rolling stone 1999 prediction of Bush based off of interviews with 100 people who knew him well:
All Hat, No Cattle : Rolling Stone

Rolling Stone article of who the worst president ever is (It's a comparison of many presidents, not just Bush bashing) From 2006:

The Worst President in History? : Rolling Stone
These "links of interest" have absolutely nothing to do with John McCain. What's your point?

And oh yeah, CHECK YOUR PM's.

The public hates Bush and McCain seems too much like him and seemingly will just continue messing up this country ala GWB which will scare voters away. The only chance he has is Central and Southern States racism unfortunately and the fact that America seems to hate African Americans.

Ever think maybe the reasons people don't like Obama could be based on his character or even his POLITICS??? I wouldn't vote for him regardless of what color he was - because he's a bleeding heart super-liberal.

Also, I imagine residents of the central and southern states on this board would take offense to you referring to them "racists." Not to mention, these states have mostly-conservative populations and tend to give their electoral votes to the Republican candidate, anyways. It would've been interesting to see what would happen if Alan Keyes had won the Republican nomination and was up against, say, John Edwards - but I'd bet a weeks paycheck that Keyes would still win in these states due to his more compatable politics - I sincerely doubt they'd vote for someone as liberal as Edwards simply because he's 'the white guy.'

Oh so you're not prejudice based on race just on someones political affiliation. Political partys suck and they obviously do nothing more than split our country. They are good in that one party always acts as a check and balance towards the other but in this day and age when stretching the truth and negative campaigning are common something needs to be done.

Ok the first part you might have a point and I apologize to the members of the board from those areas. What I based that statement is that generally people from those states are head over heels over a disgrace like George Bush and I don't think they'd vote for a black man simply because there aren't many blacks in these areas from what I heard. I said something that is offensive and not politically correct but i'm sorry but I believe it to be true. I think this whole country hates blacks to be honest and it's not fair. It's going to be a very interesting election. If McCain wins then the "America is racist" claims will be flying...plus you can expect the Iraq occupation to never end. The armed forces will be in Iraq for good thus weaking our armed forces and other countries will be strengthening up to become on par with America's military and then the sh** is going to really hit the fan. Obama may be liberal but McCain is simply George Bush Part 2 and this country won't be here in 50 years if he wins. This liberating Iraq has cost this country what? 100 billion dollars almost? If McCain wins every dollar you make will go to that useless war. If you work or have kids in November you better vote for Obama or America is doomed.

How exactly do you equate simply disagreeing with someone's political principles to being prejudiced? I oppose the Democratic Party's stance on the vast majority of current issues, so how would it make any sense for me to vote for one of its candidates?

First you groan at nearly every single post of mine in this thread, then you make this gem of a statement? Sounds to me like you're trolling for a fight...

Do you have any better ideas? That whole one-party system hasn't worked out so well...

Truth be told, I've seen FAR more "negative campaigning" going on this election within the Democratic Party than I have between the left and the right.

Claiming that they are ignorant really isn't any better..

*sigh* - you completely missed my point...

The problem with blanket statements like this is that they tend to say much more about the person saying them than they do about the group they are directed towards. It has nothing at all to do with "political correctness." Allow that to sink in before you respond please.

Quote:

Well, you're entitled to an opinion - but I think this statement is just a little bit of a stretch...

Quote:

Most likely. It's really pathetic, when you think about it.

Quote:
Obama may be liberal but McCain is simply George Bush Part 2 and this country won't be here in 50 years if he wins.
That is your opinion - which I, as well as others, do not share.

Quote:

I work, and I am voting for McCain. Why is it so difficult for you to accept that there are people who really just don't care much for Obama? I have many reasons to believe that (IMO) it will in fact be Obama who would "doom" America, but you don't see me trying to intimidate you into voting for McCain. Simply put, Thunderhead, the issues which are important to you may not be so important to others, just as their concerns may not be concerns of yours. I personally believe we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot by exiting Iraq prematurely - but you apparently think that we need to GTFO immediately. No one (at the moment) can say which one of us is right - I think I am and you think you are. Don't assume that just because we have differing opinions that you are somehow more 'enlightened' than I.

Some people are calling McCain a Bush clone but the same could be said of Obama. He's a clone of Jimmy Carter. This race will pit a confirmed Liberal against a moderate Republican.
