Default Ron Paul Is The Best Presidential Candidate To End Cannabis And Drug Prohibition

Congressman Ron Paul is not only one of the few republicans against the War in Iraq, strongly opposes the Patriot Act, and military intervention in Iran. Ron Paul is also vehemently against the War on Drugs and cannabis prohibition. Most other presidential candidates don't give a damn about the cannabis and drug prohibition but not Ron Paul. Even candidates that are a little open to cannabis only support medical cannabis. But Ron Paul supports full legalization of cannabis at the federal level and does not believe the Federal Government has any right to regulate or ban drugs.

Now don't get the wrong idea that being a Republican means he is like Bush or any Republican. Ron Paul has consistently voted against all Bush's attempts to expand the role of the presidency as well as the bull of the Patriot Act and War on Iraq (as well as the whole War on Terror in general). He is actually more socially liberal than most democrats.

Help spread the word about Ron Paul!

I might be mixed up, but isn't that some drag queen's name?

I somehow doubt you would last long in the Republican or Democratic party if you didn't tow the party line - their sticky that way. So my suspicions are always raised in candidates who try to fake themselves against their party early in the campaign, as they are solely dependent on that party's nomination later.

Show me a Libertarian and I'll show you a candidate against federal involvement in MJ.

Ouch. ..
that kind of false name recognition might not be such a good thing.

I guess in a grassroots political campaign any name recognition at all is supposed to help, but a successful campaign/nomination might help her/his? career more.

Really, if Dr. Ron Paul's record in Congress gets out enough as an advocate of limited federal government and greater say by the States - which is what are founding fathers advocated anyway -
Ron Paul may just get popular enough for Jay Leno or Conan O'Brien to jest about the Queen of Manhattan known as RuPaul - haha -

RuPaul oops Ron Paul v. Hilary for President of these United States.

Ron Paul was the 1988 LP Presidential candidate. There are something like 450 bills in the US House that passed ~434-1. Guess who that 1 is. I've heard him speak on C-SPAN and in person. He's not perfect, but he has repeatedly spoken against the drug war and the war in Iraq. He voted no on the Iraq war and the federal ban on gay marriage, was a cosponser of the States' Rights to medipot act in (i think in 2001) and industrial hemp bills in 2005 and 2007. If he decides to run, he's got my vote.

Ron Paul got some 400,000 votes in that election as a Libertarian candidate.
With a major party machine behind him he could do alot more of course.

On the MySpace polls. . .
for the Democrats - Obamamania is ahead with Hilary being a close second

for the Republicans - Ron Paul has been way ahead, which is pissing off the McCain's etc.

Congressman Paul is gaining enthusiasm as people learn of him - he could really bring the country back together :

Your facts are a little off again...First off it wasnt a "poll". They were talking about how many friends each candidate has. Obama has 48,000, tops among Dems with Clinton coming in 2nd with 25,00 friends.

Ron Paul is the top Republican because hes the ONLY one with a myspace. He has a whopping 2,757 friends

Ron Paul steps into national spotlight

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 4, 2007

ARLINGTON, VA – Congressman Ron Paul finished first in the MSNBC poll following the GOP primary debate last night held at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California. Dr. Paul received 43 percent, beating the second-place finisher by five points, and crushing the rest of the field.

"Last night, Americans met Ron Paul and loved what they heard," said Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "Dr. Paul's message of freedom and limited government resonates with Republicans hungry for a return to their party’s core values."

"Ron Paul is the only true conservative in the GOP race. Americans saw that last night," continued Snyder. "The campaign looks forward to further debates and opportunities so even more Americans will discover Dr. Paul's message of freedom, peace and prosperity."

-30-
If any of you thought that he didn't stand a chance before, I think you don't have to worry now. Ron Paul is starting to be known and everyone is starting to see that every other republican candidate are a bunch of war-mongering empty suits (keep in mind that 70% opposes the war now, every candidate in the debate was arguing about winning the war while Dr. Paul was the only one that talked about getting us out).

Remember if he wins the election there is a good chance he will end the War on Drugs and the War on Marijuana.

This is in no way indicative of the general public's opinion. We do the same thing all the time with gun right's polls. Various popular gun websites tell their readers to go to a URL and vote. We often score over 95%, which has nothing to do with the actual pro and con positions of voters. It has to do with having an organization versus casual participants.
