What if obesity was the result of Greenhouse gasses?

I am sitting here stoned and the commerical on before I located a proper show to watch was for one of them fat burning pills. The advertiser suggested that "normal people" have fat burning enzymes that have become less active throughout recent years.

Wouldn't it be awesome if some researcher discovered that the less active fat burning enzymes are a direct result of our pollution of the planet? Immagine what that would do to the green movement in the U.S.

We're just a bunch of fatties...

It could have at least something to do with the fact that our food doesn't have as much nutrition as it used to have even 20 years ago due to over farming. Our bodies crave the nutrients that we are lacking, which in turn, makes us eat more food, which might not have all of the nutrients we need, but still all of the fat.

Obesity is caused by exceeding your caloric in/out-take daily, lack of exercise, etc.

What fat burning enzymes they're talking about I'm not sure, but calorie burning comes from just living, moving, exercising, breathing, and so on. You can eat 12-15 calories (male), 10-12 (female) for each pound you weigh. So given that I'm 200lbs and I'm rather inactive I get 12, 15 if I were active. Assuming this, I can eat 2400 calories a day just living. If I run/jog/walk a mile, I burn an extra 100, so now I can eat 2500 that day. Now your bodies metabolism over time does lose strength, so that 12 may diminish to 10 or 9, but it's the same idea.

True that.
As a nation we consume on average less whole grains, protein for the minimum lean muscle requirement for calorie burning, WAY less fiber, and essential fats. Instead we consume food filled with synthetic sugars and liquid vegatable oil turned solid which tricks are metabolism to not fully process carbohydrates. Being overweight has more to do with what you eat than how you much, i.e. six small meals v.s. three medium meals.

hydrogenated oil was patented in 1902 by a German chemist...so I highly doubt the validity of what you are trying to portray...

They cannot be linked as one causing the other but I do agree that the rise in obesity and the vast emissions of greenhouse gases are a direct result of how society has developed. as a collective group we are less active then any generation before AND we use all sorts of useless technology that requires petroleum or coal to run, like the computer I'm typing on right now.
