What are your thoughts on black holes? Fascinating stuff in my oppinion. I know quite a bit about them, as i've researched them for quite a while now.

Well I think its obvious that black holes are fucking insane.

I heard that whats on the other side of a black hole has been discovered, and it was massive amounts of energy, and if one were to go through, they would be crushed.

There could be. But no one can find this out, because whatever goes into a black hole cannot possibly come out. But scientists have figured out what happens in the even horizon of a black hole, which is the point of no return. Once you reach the even horizon, the gravitational forces are so strong you begin to stretch untill you break in half, then the two pieces of your body are stretched, and so on. This keeps happening untill you are a spaghetti like substance.

All of that happens before you reach that actual black hole (called the singularity). Once you enter the singularity, there are endless possiblities of what could happen.

There is absolutley no way to find out, but if I had to guess, I would say the atoms that make up your body would be distributed evenly throughout the entire black hole. So you would become part of the black hole, making it larger. The more matter a black hole sucks in, the larger it becomes, so I suppose if you were to be sucked into a black hole, your matter would stay within the black hole. But that is just an educated guess.

As it does me. I can't think of a scarier situation than facing the doom of being sucked into a black hole. But it fascinates me at the same time.

It is actually possible to go into a black hole (not yet as material science hasn't come this far yet) You can enter a super-massive black hole for some reason. These are the black holes at the center of galaxies that often make them shape the way they do (appear to be spinning around something.)

I forget why you can enter a super-massive black hole - something to do with the fact that they emit large plumes of x-rays and gamma rays. However, you cannot leave once you are trapped in the singularity. And would forever be floating around in whatever the other side holds.

In a normal black hole the forces will crush you to death long before the event horizon, but the event horizon is where nothing can escape, including light. Interestingly enough if you were to fall into a black hole and reach the event horizon, in one piece, to an observer far away from the black hole it would appear as if your image was forever frozen at that point (i think i read this somewhere)

I love blackholes and space in general. If you like black holes you should look into worm holes. Another fascinating piece of science, although right now it is all theoretical astro-physics
