Cool Grinders and Dedbr.....?

Ok. I gave in. I used a grinder. I was skeptical. After all, old dog and new tricks. I cleaned the stems and one or two seeds out and followed the directions.

"Grind, Grind, Grind"....Something was definately happening to something in there. I took a look...

Yep. Just as I expected. The herb was ruined. I knew better than to trust those whipper-snapperrs.......wait. My herb was ground down to the best grind for a nice spliff. I would try it and see......

Hey, no runs and burning quite well. I am impressed......I think we could give this a C+ on the ded scale of cool......

Grats on learning a new trick!
If you don't grind quite as much you'll get a perfect grind for a bowlpack. It's a skill that you'll learn really soon, if you continue to use your grinder

Might I ask how the 'herb was ruined'?

er, wait... it wasn't ruined?

What kind of grinder? Have you seen the Quality Metal Grinders Compare/Review thread? Good read

The cool thing about using a grinder (assuming it has a kief catcher)... Grind your buds for a few days or so, open the kief catcher up, and sprinkle the crystal on top of whatever you're smoking.

You won't get as many crystal hits, but the ones that you do will knock your socks off.

Yeah, dedbr, I'm hoping you'll invest in a quality grinder. Trust me bro, once you get a quality grinder there is no turning back. I know what you mean by getting a hit off a 'virgin' bud, untouched by man, but a nice grind makes a smoother smoke in my experience. Plus all the kief I've accumulated makes me...

I'm pretty sure Buzzby, Sterbo and I are all rocking the Mendo Mulcher...

I don't know Bru ( pronounced brew....)......I am likin' it but I still miss the ritual of the cut, as you say. There is something that can be said for the sticky-icky on the fingers.

I was a hard sell on grinders. Before using one, I'd been cutting up buds with a pair of cuticle scissors for 37 years. I discovered, though, that a grinder is faster, produces a more consistent product, and I lose less resin to sticky scissors and fingers. Kief falls off when you cut with scissors, too, but it's not as easy to collect as it is in a grinder with a kief catcher.

For bowls, a scissor cut works just about as well. For vapes and joints, a grinder cut is definitely superior.

I bought my first grinder last week and after the whole trip the kief was built up to twice as much as you have right there Spiral. Toked it all on the last night (July 4) and simply put......WOW. But it did take me some time to get the hang of a grinder. I had to learn the right amount it could handle at a given time and how long to grind for and such.
