OK so I after reading an article in a recent High Times it raised some concerns about white Bic Lighters. According to the article there is a curse coupled with those lighters.
Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain's autopsy reports all note there being a white lighter present.

I've also heard some horror stories about white lights myself, so I'd like to know what you all think...or if you have a "cursed ligher" yourself?

According to the Bic website Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison were all dead before Bic even manufactured lighters. The white lighter myth is bullshit. Some will say the reason the white lighter myth endures is that potheads noticed that white lighter show that you are weed smoker because when of the black marks that appear when you ash a bowl with a lighter, but that's true of all lighters. To combat that I say quite being pussies and grow some true pothead callous.

Actually I would say a white bic is a good thing in that by holding it up to the light you are able to gauge the fluid level.

Black is the only color I buy. Not really into the whole superstitious thing though.

Hm, I haven't heard any of that. I personally just buy lighters that I can see the fluid where I know when to buy a new one. Aesthetics are not important to me with lighters (in most situations.) :P

I know they were dead by 1972 and Bic didn't release the plain white lighter but still it is eerie......not to mention the tons of stories you come up with about busted toking, dropped weed, and other accidents you'll find when googling "white lighter curse".

Completely legit?.........are you kidding?

All Bic lighters are cursed and make great stuff taste less than great. Buy an inexpensive refillable lighter and fill it only with triple filtered gas - available at any good cigar store - use it exclusively for 30 days - You will never use a BIC again regardless of the color. Enjoy the taste.

I use white bic lighters almost exclusively. White is the only color that is transparent enough to monitor the fluid level. I've never had anything negative happen as a result of using/possessing a white lighter.

Yea I know...but it is a little interesting...considering all the reports about it you can find on Google.

Oh and another way to gauge the fluid is just shake the lighter....by now I know what an empty bic weighs vs a full one. Strange knowledge? You better believe it.

i always thought that the whole white lighter thing was crap as well.but i know so many people that believe it.i've never had anything go wrong while using/having a white lighter on me,so it's just w/e for me.i have a "cursed" light blue bic lighter though,it's flame comes out really big for some reason,and it ignites really quickly as soon as you let go of the button.so i have to pull it away from my bowl so it doesn't blow some of the weed out,cause it tends to do that if i just let it ignite in the bowl
