| Hi everyone, I was shopping around to buy my first grinder(finally!!!) and I was wondering if there was a big difference between the 4 pieces(one screen) and the 5 pieces(2 screens). Do I really need two screens to collect my pollen or a single screen does perfectly the job? Also it comes with a pollen presser but there's two different kind of plugs for it, some in metal the other in ABS. Are the ABS plugs gonna melt or give a bad taste to my kake if I intend to boil the presser a little bit? Thank you for your help |

| I've had 5 piece (2 screen) grinders in two brands. MixnBall screens are removable. You can tell some difference in the mesh size, but I found it a waste of time to use two screens. I prefer a fairly coarse screen (quantity over quality) and the 2nd, finer mesh screen produced very little extra kief. So I only use one screen at a time. I also bought a 2 screen Chromium Crusher, since it was cheap. Both screens were very fine mesh and I couldn't tell the difference between them. Using both was a waste, since either screen was too fine for my taste. At least it let me use only one screen at a time, like the MB. Unless you're into screening super fine kief particles, I wouldn't bother with a 2 screen grinder. If you get one, I'd make sure you can use only one screen if you want. Quote:
I've heard the product tends to stick to metal plugs, but if you're gonna boil the press I'd go with the metal.

| [quote=5drive;1161243] I doubt they'd melt, but why boil the press? I don't know it's the first time I will use a presser. Going through the forum I read that boiling the presser for about 10 min then freezing it for about 30 min and after let it rest a room temperature for a while would make a really great kake. Is there an easier or more accurate way to do it or that sounds about right? Thanks again |
