In most discussions of four-piece grinders, people talk about how effectively they put kief through the screen into the last compartment and ways to increase kief production. Personally, I prefer to keep the trichomes attached to the ground-up weed for everyday potency instead of separating the trichomes for an occasional potency treat.

I get very potent, sticky, trichome-covered buds. They smell great, they taste great, and you can get a buzz off of one or two hits. Separating the trichomes would, I think, take away from the whole experience.

I'd like to hear opinions both from people try to maximize kief production and those who prefer to minimize it.

I like saving up the kief since I smoke mostly spliffs and joints and the extra kief isn't always necessary. When I smoke bowls or vape, I either use scissors or the grinder without the bottom 2 compartments attached so everything falls onto my table and i can just put it on top of the bowl. I do really like using the grinder though because I find it more useful from time to time to be able to dip into this nice amount of kief rather then smoke it at every occasion. What i've been buying lately hasn't been riddled with kief though, I guess if I had this amazing crystalized buds I'd leave them intact just to see how nice it looks.

I collect kief but the majority stays on my buds. Just because I get a little collection through my screen I'd say 80 or 90% stays on the buds and the 10% or even less passes through. My buds are still very potent as only a small amount falls through for me. It's nice for me to have a very potent collection but still keep good potent buds.

i see no point in collecting kief considering i have no desire to make hash, im just gonna smoke it anyways so why go through the trouble of separating it then reuniting the kief and bud

I like having a kief catcher because as you're smoking the bud that has lost some of its THC you STILL get just as high as you want and don't know the difference. Its nice to have an occasional treat of pure kief

i use a grinder and i get really good bud always very good and always covered in kief, and i love saving the kief i put it on special bowls when i want to get really high.

I do like kief. I always get as much keif from my bud as possible. I normally take a pinch of bud and then put a pinch of keif on top of it every time take 3 to 5 hits. I prefer to get punched in the face on the first hit. instead of it being spread out through all of them.

I think toping the bowl with keif is much better than smoking it all throughout on the bud. It makes the first hit taste great and really enhances smoking the bowl to me.
