What if...

I wrapped up my little stash spot for my green with saran wrap and somehow hid it underwater...then they could never smell it right?

In order for that to work you'd have to vacuum seal the weed before you put it in water, or your bud would get wet. After vacuum sealing it you shouldn't have a smell anyway, so submerging the bag in water is pretty useless.

So I guess in theory, yes your idea would work...but there are more practical ways of killing the smell. When I have to worry about smell, I usually pack my weed with sandwich bags of coffee beans. That usually does the trick, short term at least.

Honestly you shouldn't have to worry abou the smell haha, just put it in your computer/speakers/make an axe can stash or something like that

yeah friend said somethign about putting it in a bag then taking that bag and putting it into a bag full or pepper... I think coffee beans would work too lol. Neat idea! I have plenty of coffee to go around.

If it can be smelled in the air, dope dogs will detect it underwater. Saran Wrap is not waterproof, so you'd end up with a bunch of soggy weed.

Covering up the scent with another scent is a myth, as far as dope dogs go. Unlike us, dogs can detect many scents at the same time.

Although the "masking scent" thing may be a myth... When pot is transported into the country with semis and such... They almost always use the "freezer" trucks and stash the smoke in things such as (ground beef). You may wonder why... Simple answer: If it's being transported, (even by car) and you put your smoke in some meat, the dogs smells the smoke, goes for the bag, the cop is like wtf?! come here stupid mut! quit trying to eat this dude's food!"

Honestly, argue if you wish but, i've seen this done and that's why the "masking the scent" thing is usually misinterpreted... So, in a sence... Most people aren't going to be sticking their smoke inside of a brick of meat and stashing it in a freezer... that's why most of the time, it doesn't work.

I think a big problem a lot of smokers have is that they underestimate the skills of dogs. This is mainly due to the fact that we are humans and we don't truly understand how animals perceive things. For example, if you put of bowl of soup in front of a human he wont be able to tell you everything that went in it. Sure he can look down and notice that there's a carrot or a piece of chicken but when he smells it he can only smell one scent. This is where people think that they can cover up the smell of cannabis. If it works on us it works on dogs right?

Wrong. Dogs smell things like we can see things but better. If you put a bowl of soup in front of a dog, it doesn't smell soup, it smells carrots, chicken, celery, pepper, potatoes, onions, etc. If you put weed in coffee a dog smells a lot of coffee and some weed. If you put weed in water a dog smells water and weed. A dog can smell truffles 3 feet under the ground. So simply putting weed in water wont work.

The only way to hide marijuana from a dog is to vaccuum seal it, clean the bag with isopropyl alcohol or bleach (this kills the scent rather than "masking" it) and then repeat 2 or 3 more times. If you then put it in water it would be highly improbable (but still possible) for the dog to find it. Dogs are natural born hunters who rely on their noses for survival (some can track prey from miles and miles away), K-9 units are trained from birth to find just one or two substances. The best way for you to keep your stash hidden from the dogs is to avoid them or to know your rights. Cheers

I'm pretty sure the OP isn't trying to hide his stash from dogs.. Since when have you heard of a k9 unit coming into your house to find your stash?? If anything he's probably referring to his parents who are humans

I think the idea that it was about dogs came from the fact that he said smell. Most parents don't find stash spots by smelling everything.

I definitely disagree. My parents could easily smell a bag if it was sitting around in my room, but not if it was packed away in a backpack or something.
