A few days ago I ran out of weed, but I noticed that my pipe hadn't been cleaned in ages. Like it was BLACK to the extreme. I filled a small tupperware container with water, just enough to cover the pipe. I scraped my piece and flushed all the resin out into the bit of water. I'm waiting for the water to evaporate so I can easily scrape out what I dug out of my pipe and smoke it.

I have at times been fishing out chunks from the water and smoking them. The first few hits are nothing since I'm just evaporating the water on it, but after that it gets the job done.

Hey man, I would not suggest mixing water/resin like you are doing. The resin/water combo will start to get moldy making your resin taste really fuckin weird, and I'm sure it's not that healthy. The wetter the resin, the worse. That's my philosophy.
