| I doubt that either will hurt you. Some people think that brass gives off some kind of fumes but brass screens were around for decades before stainless steel screens became available and I've never heard of anyone getting sick from using them. I prefer stainless steel. It doesn't oxidize and and I like to clean my screens by burning off the residue with a propane torch. I've been able to clean and reuse the same stainless screen for more than a year. There has been a lot of discussion of this topic on these boards. If you use the search function you'll find many different opinions.
