one time we were smokin sum bowls on the way to go snowboarding and i sucked half a bowl of ash in my mouth. I spat it out hte window not realizing the back window was open. I ended up with a big ash stain on the roof in the back seat of my car. nasty!

Well, most glass pipes have a bowl that tapers town into a somewhat small hole, small enough taht even shake (when packed tight enough) doesn't fall through. (But not crazy small, just small.) So you don't need a screen.

Hmmm, with my glass sherlock pipe (her name's Magical Mystery Tour) I just have a glass screen for it. The glass screen was loose and slippery when I first bought the thing, but after a couple days of use, it was firmly resinated in place

. Just check at your local headshop for glass screens, they're around $3 a piece at my headshop.

Oh, a glass screen isn't like a normal screen by the way, it's like a little disk with beads of glass at various points around that disk creating a nice platform with little holes around the edges for smoke to pass through.
