Grinder Question

I have recently aquired a new grinder and I have a question. In order for me to fit the bud between the spokes inside the grinder, I would have to break it up pretty well in the first place.

I was wondering if what I am supposed to do is just put the bud on top of the spoke and close it and let it get impaled. Basically, I just need to be told how to use a grinder.

I've never owned one but have used one a few times......most fit about 1 gram or a little less, just put the nug in and press down hard while twisting it back and forth.

All you do is separate the 2 pieces of the grinder to expose the pins/spokes. Then take a piece of bud (even a big one) and just squish it down into the pins. Like you said, impale it on the pins. Then take the other piece of your grinder and squish it down on top of the bud and push until it cuts through. Then, you grasp the now closed and loaded grinder with both hands so that each side gets operated by one hand. Then turn it in a circular motion to cut through the bud (turn one hand towards you and one hand away from you). This could be tough at first but after a few turns it's pretty pulverized and after a few smooth turns, you separate the 2 pieces and tap them against each other to get the ground weed out. Pick out stubborn pieces with a pokey stick.

edit: Oh well, looks like you got it. I'll leave this for future newb reference.

I didn't. I realized that you figured it out but I decided to leave the info that I typed for future references by SOME newb. As in, maybe one comes to the site and does a search and find out exactly what to do by reading the post. I didn't insult you in any way, I actually tried to help.

I find that it grinds the best if you alternate directions of rotation every once in a while.
