Grinders and Presses

Hey I was looking for a kif grinder and press and I was wondering if anyone could make some recomendations as to what to get and where to get it. I just want something that will last awhile (preferable a long time or just untill I can get more cash) and I can only spend up to $61.03 with shipping (pre-paid gift card from chistmas)

You may be able to get a space case grinder/sifter and pollen press for that. If you can that's what I'd go with. If you can't get both just get the grinder. It will take you a while to save up a buch of kief anyways. Also you don't need a pollen press to do the job you can use things around the house.

The medium space case on e-bay is like $79, and the pollen press is pointless without the grinder.

And I wish assholes on e-bay woulden't put "space" in their search titles, it's rather distracting from the genuine product, and I would imagine a great deal of people have gotten pissed buying the cheap crappy worthless alternatives.

i wanna get a grinder, one with a "kief collector". i wanna see what this kief is like when smoked in large quantity. how much weed do you go through before u have a decent amount of it?if i grind 5 grams through it howmany hits should i get off it?

You would get enough. Very potent stuff; a little goes a long way, even for seasoned smokers.

Personally, I think they get what they pay for. If you don't want to research for a genuine product, then it's your fault if you get ripped.

I bought a cheap grinder on ebay for around 12 bucks or something after shipping and it works amazing. I get a lot of kief out of it and it grinds up the bud extremley well. Spacecases are higher quality for sure, but not 70+ dollars worth of higher quality. Just get a cheap one and use the money you saved to buy weed or a nice piece. I can't vouch for most of the grinders on ebay since I haven't used them (Not to say they suck though)

That's the one I bought. That guy doesn't sell them anymore but if you could find another one like it that would be good. Another one I can vouch for would be one that has Che Gueverra as a design on the top. My friend has that one but they are kind of small, still work good though.

The most important things I think to look for in a grinder are: 1.) 4-piece w/kief collector 2.) Good screen (not flimsy, secured in well) 3.) Good grinding teeth (diamond shaped w/ machined aluminum walls)

A good way to get more kief is to place your nugs in the freezer before kiefing. Also, if your screen is very durable, you can scrape the ground buds against the screen with a lighter.

As for presses, just don't get one with a large diameter. It's better to make more pieces of smaller hash. Another good idea is to cover the dowels (plastic or metal) with some non-sticky material such as saran wrap, wax paper, or clear rolling papers. This will prevent your disk from getting destroyed as you pull it out of the press. Also, a little heat goes a long way in the pressing process.

Get a Medium Spacecase, and if the bid goes above your budget, a Small will suffice. By the way, that comes with 10 glass screens, pretty sweet. There is no need for a pollen press, there are many ways to solidify your kief.

This requires quite a bit of care, as it involves placing the kief in the cellophane, and the more precisely it is done the easier it is to retrieve hash bits you will have to collect. Here are the steps:

- Amass your kief into one big clump. If you are using a Space Case, keep in mind that there will be kief stuck underneath the clump (man that's not a very pretty word huh), and it is easier to unstick it before putting the kief in the cellophane.

- Making an "o" with your thumb and forefinger, arrange the cellophane into a small bowl shape big enough to contain the supply of kief.

- Dump the kief into the cellophane, and pull the edges of the cellophane up, pinching, and twisting, the kief into a small ball.

- Turn on the hairdryer, and hold it however you feel comfortable (I held it between my legs to take the picture), while holding the kief at a safe distance from it. After heating the kief for a few seconds, start pinching it lightly at first, making sure that you aren't losing any in the folds of the plastic. The ball will start to become very hard, and it is your discretion where to stop compressing it, however I continue until it is as hard as a rock.

- Pull the cellophance away from the hash, and pull the ball off of it. It will stick quite a bit, especially if a fold was pressed into the ball, but it will come off with some effort. You will undoubtedly have some small hash pieces stuck on the cellophane afterwards, but if you roll the ball over them with a bit of pressure, they will mostly come off.

- Break off little pieces with your thumbnail, and smoke that shit

BTW, in my extensive smoking career, and my connoisseurism of weed (yes connoisseurism), the SpaceCase grinder has been my best purchase by far. Ive bought everything associated with weed, its the best.
