Default Stale incense?

I have burned a lot of incense in my lifetime, but until recently, not many hand rolled types. I have recently discovered how much I love Super Hit incense.

I bought a 100 gram box off the internet, and I love them. Last week, I bought a smaller box at my local head shop. I think they may have been stale, but I am unsure. There were definite differences in the two boxes of incense, even though they were both Super Hit.

The color of the sticks from the internet box are red, and the ones from the headshop are tan. Weird. Also, the ones from the headshop did not look as fresh, for lack of a better term, as the ones I obtained off the internet. Meaning, they looked thinner, they would go out after being lit for a couple minutes, and I'd have to relight them. The smell wasn't as strong, and they were not as "dusty" as the internet box.

The thought crossed my mind that they might be some kind of generic, but I dismissed that because they were in a Super Hit box. So, my only other thought is that the ones purchased locally were stale.

What do you guys think?

**I forgot to mention the ones I obtained off the internet smell much better, and stronger. Burn a little bit longer, and burn differently. These leave tiny piles of ash, whereas the head shop box stayed all one piece.

There are different factories producing these things, and each factory has a quality control.

In India, the sticks are HUGE- but the "export quality" appears to mean "get er' done quality" in this case.

It looks like you found a higher quality form of the product; that's pretty lucky
