What's up everyone? Well me and my 2 other buddys have been smoking weed for quite some time.. and we wanted to start collecting kief. What I want to know is the following:

1) Where can I purchase a device that allows me to collect my kief? How much are they? Is there anyway to build something myself, with househeld products?

2) How exactly do I store/collect the kief?

3) Is the high way better than just smoking weed? (i was told its possible to hallucinate from this..)

4) When smoking the kief, do you mix it with weed, or smoke it straight up? Or does it even make a differenece?

thats about it.. i'd really appreciate if you can answer these few questions.

Well, i dont colect kif myself, but from reading the posts of TheCollector (and others) i have come to the conclusion that:
1) By far the best device is a SpaceCase which has a kif screen/catcher built into the herb grinder, i dont know how much but i would moderatly expenseve (50-70USD, dont quote me tho),

2) the SpaceCase will collect and store it for you.

3) Well it can get you really high, dunno bout hallucinations though

4) You can either sprinkle the kif left over form breaking it up in the grinder on top of the bowlpack or smoke it alone after your out of weed and no money(it takes considerably less kif to get high then weed, its pure THC)

1) On eBay $60-$100 for a space case (Don't buy a knock off) gratefulbuys is the name of the guy from ebay I got mine from.

2) The space case will both collect and store your kief for you.

3) The high in my opinion is more "pure". You will not hallucinate.

4) I somke it straight up as do most others. I do it because I enjoy the taste of pure Kief.

I bought mine from gratefulbuys too, was $65 USD +shipping.

I say the exact same thing about the high you get on kief, it's so pure. It's pretty close to vaporizing in that sense.

And yes, kief does fuck you up. I wouldn't really say it would make you hallucinate, but when you take in a good hit of kief, your lungs will feel like they've sucked shut, and your mind will be swimming.

Yes, definetly get a spacecase from gratefulbuys, I got one from him for about $70us...it came fast and neatly packaged.

I've never hallucinated from kif, but I did feel like my arms were turning inside out one time.

There are pretty much two types of kif collectors that you can buy... a kif box, or a grinder. A kif box is just a box with a screen on it. It is a place to store your buds, and as they are stored, the kief falls through the screen and rests at the bottom of the box on a removable slide of glass for collection purposes. If you get a grinder, I (and everyone) would highly suggest that you get a spacecase. The functionality, smoothness, efficiency is unmatched, unsurpassed, and all that jazz. If you decide on buying a kif box or a grinder then I would suggest doing it online (ebay's good) because it would be considerably cheaper.

There really isn't a way to build something yourself with HOUSEHOLD products. You would need to go out and buy a screen that has tiny holes in it. Like ridiculously tiny holes. There's really nothing in the household for that. Just shove some nugs on the screen, shake her around, and catch the kief on a nice slate of glass.

When I'm gonna roll a nice blunt or whatever, I'll throw like a 4-gram nug in a small blender. When I dump the blender, all the plant matter falls out, but the sides and lid are coverd in crystals. If you can find something to scrape it with... then voila. I wouldn't suggest doing this though JUST to collect kif, because it is inefficient... but next time you need a lot of weed grinded it's just an idea.

If you get a grinder or a kief box they will store and collect the kif for you. If you collect it yourself, I would suggest storing it on a slab of glass or something of the sort. Don't put anything on top of it, because that shit sticks to everything. if you put it in a box or a tin watch out because you don't want it to get caught in the corners and whatnot. I really have no advice on how to store kief. Isn't there a thread entitled 'storing kief'? Yea there is but oddly enough it has nothing to do with storing it. So i apologize, no advice. I keep mine on the back of a guiness world records book because it's laminated in a way that doesn't make the kif stick. I just shove the book under my bed or whatever but make sure it isn't close to the vent!

No, you will not hallucinate unless you eat some shrooms for munchies after. I think the word 'crisp' is a good description of the high. It's less 'stoney' so to speak. It is a better high, in my opinion, and you really don't need a lot to get fucked.

Well some people use a press to pressurize it to the point where it becomes like a block of hash. There are a few threads explaining some homemade methods of doing this. What I personally do, since I'm just an owner of a regular old glass pipe, I just put some weed in the pipe so it covers the bottom of the bowl, then I pack it down with a pen. The layer of weed is maybe a few millimeters thick at the bottom of the bowl. Then I grab a guitar pic and scoop the kief into the bowl. That way, I maintain hits that are purely kif (at the top of the bowl) and near the end of my session I start smoking the weed at the bottom. It really doesn't make a difference how you smoke it though... straight, mixed with weed, mixed with crack, cooked in a brownie.

If you want to make your own just buy a silk screen (same stuff used in printing tshirts and stuff, could get it at any well stocked arts & crafts store) and make a frame, attach it to the frame a voila, instant kief collector.
