I use them all the time and seem to work good as long as your not smoking a joint because of the smoke comming off the cherry. With a pipe or bong they work great esspecaily when you cover the bowl can hardly smell a thing then.

J/w, would a doob tube stop the smoke alarm from going off? I have one in my dorm and....well that would be terrible if i set it off..... heh

I only like rolling joints when I have reg and thats not very often so I cant really smoke outside safely with my pipes

if not, anyone know a way of safely blocking a smoke alarm?

Smoke still comes out, there is just a lot less smell of pot. So I guess you could still set your smoke alarm off. Just blow the smoke out your window, if you're worried about setting of the alarm.
