I've always liked the oils. I find that incense tends to leave a lot of dust everywhere, ends up going on the ceilings, fans, walls, etc. I do have a box of Super Hit around though, I like it better than the purple box.

Where do you get nag champa? Is it available in most New Age shops or headshops?

This thread has really made me want to go buy some new incense, I really adore the smell of them and I haven't burned them in awhile.

I typically just use stick incense, no particular brand (though I DO get my incense at headshops or a New Age shop, not a chain store). I'm partial to sandalwood, vanilla, and dragon's blood, but I have dozens of kinds of incense all thrown together in these metal triangular cones I have hanging from the underside of a shelf.

It's just practical to be able to just grab a few sticks of incense and light my altar and the incense burners all over the apartment - it looks nice, too. The bad thing about sticks, though, is that they leave that powdery light gray ash everywhere...

I've used cones, but I found the fragrance in most cases to be too strong for me (it gave me a headache and made the room too smoky) and I've used oils, too, but I have a cat and she definitely knocked over the hot oil burner before, so it makes me nervous to use them because I'm afraid I'll forget they're burning, leave, and the cat will burn my house down.

I don't really have a favorite brand or anything. But there is a small shop that sells it in the mall, and I just smell around and if I like a certain scent that day, I'll buy it.

And I like sticks better than cones.

I'm surprised no one has mention Gonish incense...Every time I buy a new scent it always smells good. But yeah, my mom doesn't exactly dislike the smell...It's just she says its way to strong. I'll only burn like 1/4 stick of incense and she won't even be able to come downstairs. My dad thinks it's to strong to but he won't freak out.

im about to go to the mall and try to find a good store to get something. My area is scarce for head shops.

I vote for Nag Champa as well. Great for meditation, great for stoners, I love the stuff. We bought a big-ass box that'll probably last us another 5 years. We burn two every time we smoke, and we smoke pretty often, so that a LOTTA incense.

Can find the stuff everywhere too!

i've never had incense before, but i feel like i should pick some up. i looked around for prices on nag champa, and theyre around $6.25 total, including shipping, for 100 grams on ebay (for satya sai baba). i'm guessing thats the aroma? anyone have good recommendations for which smell to get? also, does that price sound about right?

I recommend Nag Champa also. I love the regular, Superhit and Natural.

Nagchampa.com is the companys site and they have better prices than I have seen around headshops and stores.
