| Hey A friend I used to hang out with used to store his stash in a small tin and would stick a barely moist cottonball in with the weed, which at least looked like the water distributed itself throughout the somewhat dry weed. Does this actually help anything, or is it just for a 'better looking bud'? Thanks ![]() |

| Bud thats completely dried out burns quickly. Adding a bit of moisture keeps the buds from crumbling into dust-like particles, and helps the weed burn at a slower, more consistent rate.

| Though you do have to be careful: Don't leave a moist cotton ball in with your stash for too long or it could facilitate the growth of mold.

| Just from my personal experiance, I've found that adding moisture to the weed truly does not improve it. When I first started smoking I used to put a damp sponge in with my stash, and it simply initiated mold growth. I guess its not much of an issue for me now, because I typically buy in small amounts, but the times when I did have more, I found the risk of mold growth to outweigh the hydration of the weed. Also, usually the bud that I buy is at no risk of crumbling apart anytime soon, regardless of how it is stored. My ![]() --Fight

| I try to keep it sealed and away from dry air (harder to do in winter), but I do add moisture if it gets too dry. It's much less harsh if it's not bone dry. Also easier to handle. As for mold, adding too much moisture and/or for too long is the problem. Once you've restored some moisture, take the moisture source out. If it gets dry again (I'm bad about forgetting to ziplock my bag), repeat. You just can't add a lot of moisture and forget about it. Dry is certainly preferable to moldy. |

| if yor bud it too dry pur some orange peels in with it it hydrates the weed and makes it expand so it also makes it look like you have more nd i dont think the orange peels make mold, but if u smoke moldy weed it gets u higher but i dont do it cuz it tastes so bad nd harsh its not even worth it |

| For vaping, moisture content isn't very important because all the water has to be vaped off before the weed gets hot enough to vaporize the cannabinoids. For bowls, it's more important because you don't want the weed to go up in flames or crumble into dust and go through your screen. For joints, it's essential that the weed have a good moisture content. It's very difficult to get bone-dry weed to roll into a cylinder to make a joint that draws well and a dry joint will tend to go up in flames, especially if it's loosely rolled. If you keep your weed in an airtight jar, it will retain almost all of its moisture. Moisture content above 15% will encourage the growth of mold, so you don't want to get it more moist than that.

| I found large pill bottles work good for storing bud. Smaller ones is what i keep my ground up weed in. |
