I just use an alligator clip from an old picture frame. Works perfectly.

Go to Radio Shack and buy a bag of mini alligator clips. There's a bunch of them in a bag for a couple of bucks. These are little suckers with red and black plastic insulation on the handles.

These are what I use when I'm away from home. At home I use hemostats, which are much better but are kind of big to carry in your pocket and much more suspicious-looking if you get frisked.

I use tweezers for pulling hairs, the end is thicker so it can grip the roach.

Alligator clips click shut as well, with a spring. The roach won't come out unless you squeeze the grips, same as hemostats.

When I was in high school we used clippies. They are the little clip style hair barrette. All the girls wore them in their hair, some even decorated them with feathers, ribbons and beads. I know they are still sold in the hair section of most department stores.

The springs on those things never seem to be strong enough to hold a roach very well. They do have the advantage of looking less like a roach clip than alligator clips or hemostats.

Sec - is this the first time you've revealed that, once upon a time, you were a pot smoker? I don't recall any other instance, but I have a terrible memory.

I've seen some online, just google roach clips. I don't actualy own a roach clip but if I have the 'need' for one, then I just grab a paperclip. Works good for me

Oh, and I just read buzz's post, sec, you smoked pot? Very intresting..

I just use plain old alligator clips, nothing else I've tried works as well. I have a set clipped on my key ring and use them often.
