| not only is the Mendo cheaper and has a slightly improved blade design over the SC, but i've had mine for three years and it still mulches perfectly. my roommate's space case is four months old and the lid is already starting to stick on the sides...TRASH. i got mine from online from Mendo Mulcher Warehouse and have no complaints. |

| How does a mini grinder make it 'fresh ground'? A big grinder grinds it up just the same way. It's just bigger. Wouldn't it actually be more work to clean out 2 grinders (your small and large one), as opposed to one? The way I see it a small grinder is rather useless. 1 inch? You couldn't grind up more than a small joints worth with a 1 inch grinder. If thats all you need, I guess it makes sense, but why not just have the larger grinder in case? Besides if your trying to collect kief a larger grinder will have a larger screen surface area = more kief. I usually weigh out a gram in the morning and weigh it out. Then I grind it up and see how far it goes, allows me to easily monitor how much I smoke. |

| Ok, finally I can give my review. Sharpstone Large Metal Grinder The first thing I noticed when receiving my grinder is the weight. It is very heavy, mostly in the lid. About 3.5" diameter, rather large. Another thing I immediately noticed was that the holes are not like the ones in the picture, they are triangular rather than circles. The teeth are lightning bolt shaped, and there are a lot of em. I could also tell a difference in the metal as compared to the SpaceCase. It just didnt seem as solid, not sure if the SpaceCase is aluminum, but the Sharpstone is. The screen is very fine, really similar to the SpaceCase, although not quite as sturdy feeling. You could definitely bend it if you were to put a bit of pressure on it, but its not likely that one would. Now for the grind. I loaded up a blunt of some chron and did work. Its not quite as easy, or fluent as the SC, but with a bit of effort, it busted her right up, with a fairly consistent grind. Not quite as fluffy or even as the SC, but not a big deal. There was an intensely loud metal on metal squeek, almost like the metal expanding when put to work. Over a few grinds, the noise definitely dulled. This was one thing that did bother me, but I can look past it. There is a very large kief tray at the bottom, and I am started to gather a decent amount of QUALITY kief. Yellow, very fine, quite impressed. So to summarize the Sharpstone vs. SpaceCase... You can definitely tell a difference in the quality of the grinders. The SpaceCase is like a Rolls Royce Phantom, while the Sharpstone is like a Chrysler 300. It looks and feels a lot like a Phantom, til a Phantom rolls up beside it. (metaphor courtesy of Kat Williams haha) For $30, definitely worth it. If you are going to be grinding bud up daily, multiple times (especially if you smoke a lotta blunts), and have the money to shell out for a SpaceCase, do it. If you just grind up your bud once a day, or even less often, the Sharpstone is right for you. I am glad I got the $30 Sharpstone cause I only smoke KB, and only grind a bowl or two worth a day at most. Another $70 SpaceCase would just not be worth it for the price in my situation, but again, if youve got the money, and grind pretty often, get the SpaceCase. Ill post up pics soon. | I've had a sharpstone from the begining. I love it, works perfect and the teeth are super sharp. I have an anodized blue one, not expensive either, I believe I paid $35 with tax |
