With a THC residue or concentration like hash, kief, or oil you can smoke a small amount, meaning less smoke, and receive the same, often even more powerful effects than with more smoke. Quicker high, less damage to lungs, etc. Of course this totally depends on the actual potency of the concentration in question. You can have one hit hash, ultra potent kief, but you can also have shit hash and diluted green 'kief' which won't do much.... Is that what your asking? Yes, you will have less to smoke, you will produce less smoke but the effects will be equal or more. I am unsure of the exact potency of a THC residue from cleaning your grinder, but I can assure you it will get you stoned. Scrape it up with a razor and put it on top of a small bowl, when smoking it be careful to not torch it.

| I don't see how the concentration of alcohol you use to clean your pieces would make any difference in the quality or amount of the ultimate smokable resin. 70% iso will clean pieces as well as 91%, it just takes a bit longer. You allow all of the alcohol and water to evaporate before you smoke the resin, so why wouldn't the amount of resin be the same?

| I guess I mistyped. It would be the same potency, but everything I have read (and my personal experience) says that 99% not only cleans MUCH better, but produces a MUCH better smoke, that is in terms of harshness. That's not to say 70% won't get the job done, but why not do it right? There is no chance for impurities either way, at least from my understanding, because the only other ingredient in isopropyl alcohol is purified water. You just have to let it evaporate, much longer. Also, because the iso isn't as high concentration would mean you'd have to let any material your trying to collect THC out of sit much longer to allow full extraction of THC, right? I have made iso hash many many times using both 70% and 99% (and allowing full evaporation, 24hrs+) and the 99% isohash has always been a better smoke. ![]() |

I don't remove my screen from my 3 piece. I simply put it in a small bowl and pour the alcohol up to a level that immerses the screen. Works like a champ... ![]()

| ok so heres what i did i soaked the screen section in the isopropyl. i scrubbed the whole section, then decided to follow suit with the other 3 sections. after a short soak and a very thorough scrubbing with a toothbrush, the pieces were absolutely new looking. I rinshed them vigorously under the faucet then set them out to dry. when i checked on them later, they all dried with a black cruddy film that has stained them. i tried soaking/rinsing them in water but it did nothing. im guessing the only way to remove it is to re-soak it in the isopropyl, but i dont know how to prevent it from drying like that again. sorry for being such an asshole about this. |

I'm not quite sure what to make of it. If the only residue on the screen is cannabis byproduct and it cleans up nicely when soaked and/or scrubbed in alcohol theres no reason I know of that the screen should gunk up. Two thoughts though. Make sure that the bowl that you are using to soak the screen in is perfectly clean and free from any other contaminant. That would go for the brush you are using as well. If one or both of those items are problematic then that could easily explain your dilemma...
