| I fucking wish I had sold when I had those 35% gains! Oh well, time to buy ....I've been saying we're entering a recession since September or October, which is why I've only bought gold. Wish I had the kind of change to actually invest this....somehow I think I am learning.

Last I checked, gold was $1000/oz.. It was $250/oz. back in the 1990s, and that's when I bought a couple coins from the Canadian mint as a little investment experiment. But year after year, the price of gold did not budge very much compared to the stock market. So I sold it back in the early 2000s. To compound this mistake, I also sold my bonds and went into stocks just when the stock market began slipping. Now, 20% later, I have to hold on tight and just hope things get better. My best investment of all, the one I have never once regretted (no, not mj, though that would have been a nice one, judging from oz. prices in the USA)... I-bonds from the U.S. treasury. They have returned a tidy 4 to 5 percent interest per year, and the taxes are deferred until redemption. In a time when the stock market is losing money, a nice little return of inflation-adjusted interest is pleasant to contemplate. | |

| Anyone experiencing weird things with the stock market on MJ.com? For some reason, stocks that I bought a couple weeks ago are all now reported to be literally worthless... I lost more than 700 grams. I don't get it.
