I've been noticing that everyones portfolio is down at least 1 or 2%, and those that are up are up 3 or 4% less than usual...

The real market has been shit because of the economy. It stands to reason people will feel the hit here too as it's based on the real stock market. At least I think it is, but I'm not 100% sure. All my grams are not in the stock market, so I don't pay much attention.

The stock market value is inversely proportional to the price of crude oil.

Oil prices go up, stock prices go down across the board.
Oil prices go down, stock prices go up.

The world economy is dependent on liquified dead dinosaurs, so the price of oil affects everything.

We are in a recession. We may not have met the definition for it yet, but most if not all economical signs point that way. I called the branch manager I interned with at Raymond James last week. All their research expects the DOW to hit 10,000 by this time next year. Stay out of the housing and credit markets. If you think the tech bubble was bad, just wait for the housing and credit bubble. It will make the tech bubble look like a spring rain compared to the hurricane coming.

I made about 400 off of csco on a 1 day investment with 14k.

The Dow Jones had a big increase today, despite the fact that the price for a barrel of oil keeps increasing.

Yeah, I had 628 shares of CSCO I just sold out. And I was considering buying a few shares of AAPL, but it's up so I'm out.
