When I buy a dime, it has absolutely nothing to do with the weights. A dime is $10 of herb. It'll vary in quantity depending on quality. That's just how things run 'round these parts, but it works slightly differently everywhere.

One Pound in metric measurements is 450 grams.
There are 16 ounces in a pound

450 / 16 = 28.125 grams

Here in New zealand i think you should get a "foil" or "tinnie" (tin foil package of weed that weighs about 2 grams) for usually $20NZ ($8 US) or a good one for $25NZ ($10 US, usually 3 or more grams of hydro though.)

An ounce where i live costs about $250 about US $100

if we were to buy an ounce in foils, it would cost a wee bit more, but if you sell it (and smoke it) at your own discretion you can make quite a hefty profit!

wow..i never figured so many peeps would reply to this thread of mine, but thanx to everyone. but foild_, if your only getting a gram for $10 i am sorry......a joint, which is $5, should be 2 grams standard......

i hope a few people can vouch for me that a regular sized joint is not 2 grams. that is rediculous.. and let alone the fact that if what you are saying IS true, you must be getting really awfull shwagg weed man for 10$/4 grams (you said a joint is 5 bucks for 2 grams, right?)
and also, it depends on where you live, i live in canada. and i think everyone here knows that canadian currency is worth about half that of a american doller.. so that also makes the quantity/price lower, or get higher

well..i've never had shwagg from canada, but a 4 gram dime is standard everywhere i've lived in the US, and we still get pretty high.......

....now for the good shwagg it's a diff. story...that runs about $5 a gram......

...and..and by-the-way...i'm located in Missouri if that's any indication of the quality of weed.....Denver, CO has much better stuff for the same prices...

Hmm.. I agree with the 28.5g=1 oz and 3.55g=1 eighth measurements. These are simple measurements you can look up in a dictionary or online, you just gotta convert to metric and back. All the other stuff is slang that can mean different things:

Eg. A dime in my Portland means $10 of weed, which since an eighth is usually $40, which is 3.5g divide by 4= 0.85 grams
in a $10 sack or "dime bag"....

A "dub" here is a $20 or a half eighth (1.75g)....
A "twuwp" is the same thing....

Quarters (7 grams) are usually $70, with the "bulk" discount, and
ounces (28.5 grams) are ~ $230......

I dont know what everyone is talking about, 4 grams for 10 bucks. I want to see that stuff, nugs or shake? Over here in Florida the prices go like this.

1/8th: $50 Unusual for college students here to buy kind bud in other quanties so a dealers lbs. are almost always sold entirely in 1/8's.

Dealer Really Good Middies and no seeds:
1lb: $2,800

Resale:
1/8: $35
1/4: $70
1/2: $120-130
1oz: $230-240

Dealer Regs:
1lb: Don't know, would never buy the stuff to sell.

Resale:
1/8: $20-25

Swag:
Don't know prices.
Stop the sale of swag.
Don't buy it.
Don't buy regs either unless you have to.

These are the accurate prices in Florida cities.
