Help me please!

I'm hurriedly finishing an art project with a drugs related theme. I've heard the phrase 420 used a lot, mostly concerning ganj. For example www.420.com takes you to the High Times website.

Any help would be much appreciated

i'm not sure what you mean. like,
4 20 means april 20th. which is supposed to be the best day to start growing pot i believe.(not sure about the growing thing just what i heard) but april 20th is like national pot smokers day basically everyone tokes it up. my friends all wake up at 4:15 am pack a bowl and hit it at 4:20 to start off the day. at my school it is out sr. ditch day.lol. like 15% of my student body ditches or somthin like that. hope that helps. maybe someone who knows more about weed can tell you if its when your supposed to start growing or not.

There's 2 links posted by 2 different guys which I (and many other folks) believe to be the most accurate origin. It's at least the one that seems to make the most sense.
