| I always thought it was spelt marijuana, so why do some spell it marihuana? for example: http://www.marijuana.com/index.php?page=intromed | |

| ...J...in Spanish...is pronounced like the H ... in English Juan...Jose...Jesus (didn't know he was a latino didja?) Since gringos pronounced the "j" in marijuana...the English slipped in an "H" so they wouldn't sound silly making a sound like mary-chi-uana when they went to discuss it in scientific papers, or were buying it from their favorite rastaman or down in the 'hood or barrio... Of course most folks just call it Pot. Basically? It's two spellings of the same word. | |
