An oz is 28 grams (might be 28.5, I'm not quite sure), so an 8th would be about 3.5 grams.

i'll give y'all a little lesson in cockney rhyming slang, as related to cannabis.

grass/green/weed = "punk" (skunk)

1/4oz = "daughter" (as in "what you want? the farmers daughter?")

1/2oz = "scarf/laugh etc."

1oz = "bounce" (often used in combination with "the farmer's daughter" )

hashish (usually soap) = "phez/pheasant/pleasant" (derived from 'resin, as in "cannabis resin")

bong = "chub/tube"

joint = "point" (or) spliff = "bifta"

anyways that's about all i can remember now. this isn't how londoners talk these days, but most of the south east remains true to its roots.
