I was talking to my friend about this before, and i was wondering where kush originated from. I know its an ancient strain that came from somewhere around the middle east... but im not quite sure.

kush is like an indian strain (Hindu). So... I am guessing India (or for some reason I wanna say Egypt but Idk why lol)

Idk if they talk about kush the strain in specific but they do mention Egypt

doesnt some strains of kush have trace amounts of opiates? i heard that way back in the old days, farmers in i think pakistan? would plant kush with their opium fields, because it was that damn good.

I read somewhere that in some language it means "Killer" or "To Kill". Hindu Kush means "Hindu Killer". I really need to find that info now, cause I don't wanna give an answer without support. But be trusting, because I am 100% not making it up lol.
