Firstly I must state that I love smoking. I love smoking in different ways; that's why I own a few different pieces.

However, I also occasionally buy rolling papers because I like rolling and I like smoking J's.

The problem is I get that nasty sh!t at the beginning of it, all that nasty gunky resin. Is there someway to get over that? Like am I rolling wrong or something? It only seems to happen to my joints.

No I'm not "N-Lipping" it, I keep it very dry lol

I just want to know if there's something I can do to prevent it, or if I'm rolling wrong or something.

Really high quality weed is not well suited for rolling joints, in my experience. It has so much resin that re-condenses inside the joint that they tend to become a solid mass through which no air can pass. Rolling bigger, somewhat looser joints helps, but they still tend to become a mass of condensed cannabis resin mixed with nasty products of incomplete combustion.

I don't smoke high quality weed in joints unless that's the only option available. I much prefer using a vape. It extracts all of the goodness without leaving behind crap that I don't want in my body.

are you putting a roach with it. if not then try it. chances are you wont get much if any of the resin

ahh, the "teertip" complex (thats the dutch word for it, anyway :P). i've really bent my brains around it with friends. by my reckoning it has very much to do with how packed your joint is, it shouldn't be too tight near the roach/tip/carton thingy. moreover i always roll with a bit of only tobacco near the tip (weed is mixed, too), to give it a little more space so to say and i never have a teertip. and in contrary to buzzy's experience, some of my friends roll teertippers way too often, and usually from the same weed

but then again, that's all speculation. never tested under laboratory conditions

a roach is simply a small piece of cardboard that you put at the end of your joint. you should put it in before you roll. im not entirely sure of how else to describe it. check this link out for more info. The filter, roach or tip of a joint

I don't consider getting the joint wet with saliva a phenomenon which can only be referred to in one way . I also think it's unfortunate that an offensive term has become the standard saying for said phenomenon. No worries, though, apology accepted.

As far as your original question, definitely just roll a roach in there. You'll be able to smoke all the weed in the joint and the end won't get clamped shut. I've never had a problem with resined up joints when I roll with a roach, no matter the quality of the weed. Another trick is to put the joint a little further into your mouth and don't clamp down hard at all. That'll help keep it from becoming closed.

P.S. A nice dry roach is one of the few benefits of cotton mouth.
