Im pretty sure my dad smoked when he was a kid. He grew up in the 60s and 70s, listened to music like the beatles, the grateful dead, the who, and is pretty relaxed on the subject of smoking. We go to concerts together sometimes and whenever someone lights up in the crowd he always says "Smell the pot?" or "Did you catch a buzz from that pot tonight?" What do you think hed say if i asked him to smoke.

well i dont know ur dad so its hard to say if he's making incenuations to see if u smoke or 2 show he's lax about smoking. ofcourse, most ppl dont get high on their first toke of bud, esp 2nd hand either, so unless he's showing he's lax about it, or trying to bond with u, he's prolly trying 2 c if u smoke weed. maybe he finds concerts a better time to bond with u than every-day scenario. rly hard to know, but yeah, if ur curious i'd just ask him. idk. lol, not enough info.

before u come right out and ask him to smoke maybe find out if he did it when he was younger. like make conversation about it and then bring it up.

idk i kinda want him to find me watching something like pineapple express or see me chatting on here. Hes pretty chill around me, says what he thinks, makes jokes about pretty girls, drops F bombs from time to time. My instinct tells me hed be cool with it, as long as i do good regardless of it. Im going to a great school and if i screw up because of weed then ill be going to a really crappy public school. As long as i keep my grades up and dont get caught i think hed be cool. Hes talked about him or his friends drinking underage when he was a kid.

Man I think we have the same dad. He sounds soo much like mine. Except my dad has actually told me he used to smoke. Him and my mom. haha He cleans my bongs and pieces for me and talks to me about it. One night when he was drunk he asked me and my brother(as we smoke a blunt) to light an old man up.

my dad smoked when he was a kid in the '60's and '70's.

but now he works as a senior in the health service and deals with figures that point towards the negative effects of cannabis so he doesn't want me to smoke it. i toke up when i'm out of the house (i live elsewhere, anyway) and he thinks i don't smoke so he has peace of mind. it works out for the best that way.

I think you should give it a shot. It seems that it won't hurt if you ask, the worst that might happen is him saying "no". But then again, you know your dad much better than any of us, so use your own judgment.

I'm having a bunch of my family that smokes to come over on the 20th. We're all gonna smoke in my backyard (we live way out in the country) and I'm going to also ask my parents if they want to join us. So you let me know how yours goes and I'll let you know how mine does [=

Hmm well yeah my dad grew up at the same time as that. loves the grateful dead, beatles, pink floyd, stuff like that. Idk. i know he used to smoke idk if mine would anymore. maybe you should ask him what he thinks about it.

I was dealing with the same thing with my dad. Last summer after my second year in college, I just couldn't stand it anymore. I didn't think he would tell me if I just asked him, so I just decided to roll one up and wait. I figured I'd pull it out if the opportunity arose. It was late one night and we were just about done fishing at our lake and I got him talking about the old days. As he was telling his story, he mentioned smoking and I just whipped out the J I was holding and asked him if he wanted to fire it up. I knew he would either freak or just go with it. To my surprise, he just said, "Shit, why'd you wait so long?" We now chill and smoke together whenever I come home. My mom doesn't know and as bad as it sounds, it has been a great bonding tool. We get along much better now.

The first time I smoked with my "ol man" a buddy and I were backing out the drive to go blaze and my dad asked where we were off to. I told him out. He then said that's the problem with kids today they don't know how to share. I asked him if he wanted to hop in and sure enough he did. Been catching a buzz with him from time to time ever since.
