| So we have a hypothetical adult who has decided to go on an extended road trip throughout the U.S. A van, a car, motor-home, whatever - this person has decided after weighing the pros and cons that carrying one or more weapons is undeniably prudent. This is not about hunting (though such context, if efficient as a bi-product of safety, is fair criteria). He/she may, or may not have a family, can afford all associated costs and is reasonably educated. The question is - What weapon or weapons would you, especially those who have had long experience with firearms and other means of protection, recommend? Keep in mind that the thinking is (that after taking associated courses, required or otherwise) two or perhaps three weapons should suffice for minimal exposure but maximum defensive capability. And these weapons can take any form. That said, feel free to paint the whole picture as you see it and base it perhaps on what you would do if you were walking in those shoes... .
