largest mason jars you've got/had and where to get them

you see, i wanted to do some large scale storage(kilo+)and i need it in mason jars. now, i dont want lots of small mason jars lying around so i just want some big ones to put in the basement.this is the story but the title is the question

My grocery store sells them in the aisle with the random stuff and bug spray and stuff like that.

The biggest ones available seem to be half-gallon size. To find them, I'd look for stores that sell cooking utensils or canning supplies. In the US, I go to a hardware store for canning supplies. I don't know what the equivalent would be in the UK.
