| Could someone pls chek my calculations on the Theoretical amount of THC that would show up in your urine drug screen based on this scenario? The NIDA cutoff level for positives = 50 nanograms per millliliter. 1. amount of pot vaorized = 0.5 grams vaporized; potency of pot = 20% w/w THC. 2. therefore 'theroretical' amount of THC input into bloodstream = 0.5 g x 0.2 = 0.1 grams = 100 milligrams = 100,000 micrograms = 100,000,000 nanograms. 3. 100,000,000 ng dissolved over 1 millilter of water/urine = 100,000 nanograms THC per mL. 4. assuming that about half of the THC is excreted and half is stored in fat cells = 50,000 ng/mL of THC would be detected in the urine after vaping 0.5 g of high potency 20% pot. 5. the half life of THC is about 2 days; so after 2 days about 25,000 units of thc. 6 after 4 days, 12,000 units----8 days 6,000 units---after 30 days about 2,000 units. 7. now, this detection period can be reduced by about half with vigorous fat burning exercise and water dilution in the urine. So,after about 60 days the urine ought to be testing 'negative' (less than 50 ng/mL). 8. understandably, this calculation will vary by body type and metabolic rate----but see if it makes sense on a purely theoretical level?

| You can do all the math you want but there are still too many variables. THC potency. It wouldn't be 20% unless you smoked hash. Metabolism varies widely, liver and kidney function varies and one of the biggest factors is bowel movements. The quicker it gets out of your body the better. So there are just so many more factors that play a part in breaking down the fat cells and getting the thc out of your body. |

The variations are huge, too, just reading through some paper abstracts just now it seems it can vary from a few hours up to 10-12 days, depending on age, sex, activity level, amount smoked for the test, amount normally smoked, etc etc. So, basically, your calculations miss the point | |

| Pls permit me to defend some of the points in my thesis: 1. I stated that mj potency was 20% w/w in forrm of dried floral buds (e.g., white widoe, silver nebula, hash plant) are cultivars of cannabis that are of this potency--so it doesn't necessarily have to be in the form of hashish. 2. We realize that the variation in the variables needs to be considered--that is why I cited them on points #4,5 -but I was attempting to portray a "theroretical" issue---so the calculations are presented in that regard. So, I agree that one needs to "calibrate" their own body to derive their own personal "detection window"; however, the calculations serve to guide consumption habits if a drug test in pending with a known test time.
