|  420 remember im a noob, but why is the number 420 linked with smoking weed. back when i was in high school i worked at a job, and at that job there was a girl(obvious stoner) that on april 20 would make it known that its 420, and im like yeah, so what, and she would just laugh. i understand that you smoke at 4:20 pm/am and that a lot of smokers look forward to april the 20th, but why? what is the origins of the significance of three numbers being associated with weed?

| Something about people meeting up after school at 4:20 to hang out smoke MJ. I think at least thats where it came from, im sure someone else could fill you in on the whole story. |

| The origin of the term stems from a story about a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in San Rafael, California, United States in 1971. The teens would meet after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke marijuana at the Louis Pasteur statue. April 20 ("4/20" in U.S. date notation) then evolved into a counterculture holiday, where people gather to celebrate and consume cannabis. In some locations this celebration coincides with Earth Week. This day because when written, is the same as 4:20 pm Thus every 'educated' stoner loves any form of '420'
